Hello everyone! My name is Alexandra, I'm from the Toronto area and I would like to know if anyone would be interested in forming an informal support/friendship group. I think I have a mild form of social phobia. I have been living in Toronto for a while and find it extremely hard to make friends, not sure if it's because of my social phobia/shyness or if it's just difficult in Toronto. I've tried to find a support group, the one I found is at a mental hospital, which might help but I wasn't too happy about the idea of having meetings at a mental hospital setting.
I'm 30 years old, would prefer to form a group for people in the 25-34 age range. This would be very informal, like meeting for a walk or at a coffee shop just to chat, or maybe it could be centered around an activity like a hobbie or maybe sports. We all know how lonely it gets when you don't have a social life and how hard it is to fit in with the rest so I thought that maybe we can try and socialize with people like us.
If anyone would be interested or if anyone would like to suggest anything else please let me know
My e-mail is alexa1156@hotmail.com

I would be interested too, if this is still something that is being looked into. I am terribly afraid of going to restaurants though. Any other suggestions? What areas of Toronto are you all in? I'm in East York. _________________ "Keep your face to the sunshine and you cannot see the shadow."

Hi fellow Torontonians, if you guys have a meeting, please count me in too. If you haven't decided where to meet, most of downtown Toronto is accessible by subway or we could meet somewhere more north on Yonge perhaps.
