Its mostly likely nothing and by thinking about its making it seem more then it is.Just try to relax and not worry about .But if going to see a doctor is do able that would be great thing to make sure everything is ok and and if something is wrong you'll find out.It could just just a cold or nothing at all and if it is something serious you'll get help with it.I have worried about shit that almost drove me crazy its alwas good to see a doc just to make sure everything is ok.

Try not to think too much about it, i get chest pains alot thought it was due to smoking so packed it in, guess what still get the pains try these......

Make a fist and gently hit your chest the side it hurts while taking deep breathes, the vibration seems to help.

Hang from a door frame as it streches your chest.

Keep rolling your arms and shoulders work your chest.

But go get a check up.

i get the same thing once in a while. you have to pause, take a deep breath and pretend you are on the beach baskin gin the sun..let your muscles relax completely and keep taking deep breaths. if it continues after that to the point where it is getting extremely uncomfortable see a doctor...

Anxiety can cause chest pains. Also, a lot of people don't realize there are muscles and tendons between ribs which can be strained or spasm like anywhere else in your body. I would suggest trying to relax and see if the problem persists. I've gone through the "I'm having a heart attack!!" thing many times before (it's even lasted for days). No one here can tell you what is actually causing these chest pains but it seems I'm not alone when I speculate it is nothing to be concerned about. If you notice the pain suddenly spreading to your arms and/or jaw then you should probably take it a bit more seriously. Regardless, whenever you are experiencing persistant physical/emotional discomfort you should consult a professional. I'm sure everything is just fine and the pain will go away before you know it.

Hi CR8 and everyone else who replied.............

Well i really hope your right about this one the pains are not in my arm or my jaw there mainly aching pains in both my shoulders at the back and in the top partof my chest near my throat so t speak...........its the tightness in the chest that bothers me more than anything but i have experienced this feeling before when i first had my panic attacks but all of a sudden its come back again even though i have not had an attack in over a week now, i have been t the docs for more medication but it dont seem to be working at the moment for me i am taking Buspar and i am on my third week of taking them will this chest tightness dissapear in time caus its driving me crazy.

Being sat at my computer for 8 hours a day at work dont help caus i have constant burning pain in the back of my neck and my arms ache too, i also have not been sleeping too good am very restless all the time so av taken to sleepin on the sofa which aint the best of things to be doing i guess.

hope you can advise me more on this or am i just losing my mind and do i need to just chill instead of thinking theres summat seriously wrong me .......

Kerryanne,
I think the wise thing is to see a doctor, just to be on the safe side. But to also take note that you experienced similar sensations during panic attacks, and that the likelihood is that it could be this; and also some other people say they experience the same sensations during anxiety. But I am not a doctor and since I suppose you aren't either, then I think to explore all possibilites if you are unsure.

Other than that, I know that it must be freaky for you, and that saying 'don't worry' probably won't help much. ...but I also worry sometimes about what I am going through. I read some 'expert opinions' who seem to make-out that what I may have is really, really awful; and then there are one or two opinions, like that of a psychologist who experienced social anxiety and the recovery from it. She describes the symptoms, thoughts and feelings so vividly and yet, unlike others, takes the air out of the balloon, making the problem seem less big and horrible. She even wrote: "You can have a problem, or you can have a really awful horrible problem" ...and I notice that reading her advice makes me feel better and good, whilst reading that of others makes me feel 5 times worse.

...and one way or another, anxiety is based on worrying and fearing too much. So it makes sense to simply believe that there IS an answer and a way and that for the time being we will feel confused and overwhelmed, but that when we understand what to do the problem becomes manageable and likewise smaller.

So, treat people's advice with a grain of salt. Some people also have a habit of making problems feel and appear bigger. But if you think about it, a person with the solution always does the opposite.
