You got it man. I'm not a big fan of the government, but I'd really like them to tax marijuana. It'd stimulate the economy, reduce national debt, and remove thousands of people from jails and prisons who have been incarcerated for simple possession. I still think distribution and trafficking should be illegal, simply because it leads to crime. The governments needs to regulate the markets and the whole situation would be under control. They will have one the "war on marijuana" by conceding to the point that is is absolutely harmless and even beneficial in some circumstances.
Peace
One of the reasons I think marijuana remains illegal is because the government knows they won't be able to tax it; the dealer system has existed too long for it to be completely replaced by commercialized pot, and taxing it would only ensure the continuity of underground growing. Why buy it from licensed dealers when you can grow it yourself for cheaper? This trend can be seen with medical marijuana (most opt to grow it themselves than buy it from the medical marijuana dispensers). Neocons want nothing to do with anything they can't profit on.
On another, has anyone had any success with getting a medical marijuana license in Canada for the treatment of anxiety?

After prohibition they were able to tax alcohol. Under alcohol's tax laws, you can still brew your own but you have to pay taxes to do so. I believe it would work the same with pot. People would definitely want to grow their own, so people would be glad to just have to pay little fee to legally grow their ganja. Also, government mass production of cannabis would cause prices to hit rock bottom. If it was taxed and legal, you could just by it at a place that has some kind of marijuana license that allows them to sell their supply to people over a certain age or older.
The whole point of legalizing it is to remove the crime that surrounds it. If you could buy a pack of joints at the local mini mart for $5-$10, there's not a dealer in the world that would want to sell that much weed because they'd have to sell so goddamn much to make any profit. Just my opinion on the whole thing...
That's the point of this thread - To open up the minds that have been brainwashed about this drug. To remove the unnecessary and propagandized thoughts that have been spread about this substance for so long. This drug is the best, safest drug I've found for my panic disorder. Nothing the psychiatrist has given me compares to the sense of well-being and general "I don't give a fuck" attitude that so many of us could use. It allows me to focus on other things instead of what everybody I'm around is thinking about me. Just having a toke after a stressful day allows me to get my mind off the day and onto more important things. It's not an anxiety cure by any means, but it's done more in helping my panic disorder than anything a doctor has given me to "try." I've found something that works for me. I'm sick of "trying" potentially harmful pharmaceuticals that fuck with my brain chemistry. Why can't we just use what we know works? It makes no sense...
It's just so hard to break down the wall of false truths that have been spread about the cannabis plant... But it's a wall that I'm ready to spend my life helping to tear down. That's for sure.
I suppose I'm wrong in thinking it's nothing more than a recreational drug that like any other mind bending substance can be used for medical purposes with the correct dosage?
I'm sorry I just cannot see how a drug used for relaxation, no matter how potent or effective is worth the effort "pro-cannabis crusaders" put into their "work". The fact you are willing to dedicate your life to it is borderline worship.

Because thats a good attitude to have? The line is not so fine between no anxiety and not caring a damn about important to semi-important things..
It just seems to me cannabis is a hard counter to SA. And something that demands reliance.

When did I claim to be a "pro-cannabis crusader?" That's just a name you made up to try to be funny. I haven't dedicated anything but this very username on this website to do my "crusading." I don't even belong to any other forums than this one. I hardly consider myself much of an advocate for pot, since the only advocating I do is here. Isn't the point of this site to spread the word about what has been helpful for me and try to help others with that information?

And again, where did I say that cannabis for anxiety was a cure that would magically cause no anxiety? Marijuana works for me the same way if not better than benzodiazepines in the way they make you just not care about shit that isn't important.

Not caring about things that shouldn't have such an impact on you - your image, what others think of you, etc - is definitely a good attitude. Smoking pot won't make you not care about the important things.
You need to try it before you can criticize it. Millions of people smoke marijuana and most of them can keep their priorities straight. There's tons of successful people/parents/teachers/anyone that smoke pot.

Weed makes my anxiety horribly unbearable. If there is something in medical marajuana that allieves anxiety, then it is not the weed itself that is acting to help anxiety. In the case that it is beneficial for suffers of anxiety, there more than likely could be some additive. Also, weed effects everyone differently. It is completely possible that medical herb could treat unique cases...but I simply understand how that is, nor am I very interested....

I'm talking about those who do, and besides what else could I call them? Am I wrong in calling them that? That is what they are no?

That's dedication.
I'm not attacking you Silent, It just seems to me those who advocate cannabis tend to hold the stuff with impossibly high regard.
Meh, nothing more to add, just my opinion anyway.

Marijuana can be separated into two types of plants: sativa and indica. Most modern plants are a hybrid of both. The sativa type creates a more energetic high, which is more likely than indica to worsen anxiety. Indica is more of a depressant, and alleviate anxiety in most cases. There are certain people who experience moderate paranoia while high, but that usually goes away after a few highs.
Of course, it's not the "weed" that gets you high and has medical benefits, but the THC and canabanoids in it. There are no "additives."
The point is, marijuana can be a natural medicine for various things, which some people may prefer over synthetic drugs. It works wonders for some people, and worsens it for others. If your case it the latter, then stop using it. But don't criminalize it just because it doesn't work for you; people have the right to choose the treatment they feel is best for them.
