This is what you've got to understand about medical marijuana. It can cause anxiety in some,
Nope thats kinda the point a few people have been making including myself, but our personal experiences were often challenged quite harshly.Anyway dunno why your preaching at me again Silent.. my comment wasnt aimed at you.Again your taking things too personaly bud,.Im not saying shit like canabis is the devils drug and people should be hanged for smoking it lol Also you say not trying to put down anybody's opinions, just trying to provide some answers as to why we get such profoundly different effects from this substance... and your current argument is the different strains... in my opinion your graspin at straws by yet again trying to blame its negative affects on the user not knowing what there doing or by saying oh you was just smoking the wrong stuff which doesnt fly for me or change the fact that it can cause problems, but we will have to agree to disagree.I think you have a good point and its good advice to bear in mind tho.
I know quite alot about cannabis from personal experience,i smoked the stuff for years... grew it... dealt it none of which im proud of,I know about the different types ect whic is a point cos over here in the uk do you know how hard it is to get decent weed? The markets mainly flooded with really cheap nasty resin. And i dont mean like squidy black or pollen.I mean dirt cheap nasty stuff which has been mixed with god knows what and has about much cannabis in it as extacy tablets have mdma in these days (not alot btw lol). Not the markets getting flooded with homegrown (but potent) skunk.. the thing is tho dealers come up with all sorts of crap and try and pass it off as purple hayze or nothern lights... white widow ect ect So unless youve grown it yourself you have no idea of what your smoking. And even then ya cant be sure because there is so many different strains and sub strains which you agreed to yourself.I mean you mentioned sativa and indica.... but theres a 3rd putative species known as ruderalis. And like ya said god knows how many subsecies... cross breeds..ect
I actualy appreciate the fact youve become a bit more open minded about the whole thing, and actualy taken into account other peoples experiences even if they dont coinside with yours.Because i think thats so so important.Im not against cannabis becoming legal at all... actualy i think its a really good idea if it can help people which it has been proven to do with a few things. But if it ever does become legal i think its vital that people also appreciate it "can" also have negative affects in some people and some situations. Its just some people seem to have have this all or nothing black and white view that cannabis is the miracle drug that has no side affects which is what grates on me.And react so personaly just because we dont share the same view or have had different experiences.Again thats not aimed at you.its just like argueing with religious people lol sometimes when your not religious... the none religious person might be open minded and say ok i dont believe in god but i cant prove he/she doesnt exist.Where the religious person will be like heretic!!! your going to burn in hell!!! I can appreciate religion is a matter of total faith and you cant sorta half believe it... but this is cannabis were talking about But some people have the same kinda blind narrow black and white view of it... both for and against.
I think thats where doctors went wrong with valium... they handed them out like smarties before without realising that it wasnt suitabale in all situations and without knowing all the side affects. Its such an effective medication... its a life saver for me diazipam But for some people its not... but because people abused it because they didnt realize the possible negative affects its now messed it up for the people it does help cos doctors are reluctant to perscribe it.And the same things gonna happen if people have such die hard opinions about weed.If its braught out as a mircale cure all drug with no possible side affects... then 10 years later or whatever when its not been perscribed responcibly and studies show it can cause problems then its image is gonna be damaged.Where if they release it with a bit of common sence and are educated about its possbile dangers in some circumstances aswell as its benefits everyone is a winner.
Anyway this is gonna be my last post in this topic now Silent... im sick of posting about it now, kudos to you mate cos you finaly seem to be quite open minded about the whole thing which is great.Reply if you really feel the need to but im sick of the whole arguement and wont reply or even visit this thread again which is a shame cos it could be an intresting debate if some people wasnt so one sided.Sorry for the long post mate.Peace
We can throw articles around all we want, as there are plenty of them out there on the internet on agreeing with either side of this discussion. The bottom line is that there is no rock solid proof for either side, so why argue? I'm just trying to pass along something that has helped so many people gain a bit of quality of life while suffering from anxiety disorders. After going through all of the anxiety medications available, I've found nothing helpful, and I am just trying to tell people like me that there is something out there which may work for them. If you have a family history of schizophrenia or psychosis, I would advise you not to use cannabis, as modern day prohibitionists have come up with vague studies on how they MAY be correlated. I find it ridiculous, but I just thought I'd please DanFalc and the rest.
Here is my story: I suffer from a panic disorder which involves frequent panic attacks which tend to result in a state of dissociation, termed derealization. I constantly view the world through a "white mist" (best description i can give), and when I get panicked this mist gets thicker, and I may even start seeing walls, floors, and other inanimate objects moving. This all started before I ever touched marijuana.
This malady that has torn apart my life is literally like constantly living in a bad dream. I can't go anywhere there are crowds, loud noises, bright lights, as these all cause my adrenaline to pump uncontrollably for whatever reason. It is a physical problem and there is nothing therapy has been able to do for me.
I went from top of my high school class to being declared disabled over a span of 3 years. I don't have any real friends. The ones I do have just show up every now and then out of pity for my situation. My family doesn't have any idea what it's like to be me, and they're constantly urging me to "grow up" or "get over it." As much as I would like to, I physically can't, and nobody understands that no matter what I say.
When I found cannabis, I found a drug that allows me to forget about these anxieties and actually enjoy the moment. It allows me to take my mind off of what others are thinking, loud noises, or bright lights, and focus on things that are more important. It's like I've been given a second chance to live. Unfortunately, as much as I try to get across the success I've had using cannabis medically, there is always someone with a mind full of propaganda to try to send me packing. People are constantly telling me I'm discounting their experiences. Well what about mine?

Yeah that was my point to your link,heh...i just typed in cannabis and phycosis and linked the first website i found They dont mean shit. And there you go spouting off about propaganda... just cos some people dont agree with you.My point isnt that cannabis doesnt help silent... cos i know it does help *shock horror* im not some **** who thinks people should get locked up for it.I score for my mum because it helps her anxiety and can help stop her fits... i score for my Dad cos it helps his artheritis.
So really no one is disagreeing with your experiences silent.. cos i know cannabis can and does help people, all my point has been it has been known to cause problems with "some" people..if cannabis causes these problems or merley triggers them is up for debate... but it cant be denied some people have a bad reaction to it and so all im saying is people specialy with mental health issues should just be cautious. Its just you get arsey (sorry i decided to stop mincing my words the moment you left ya sarcy bitter last reply)when anyone says anything slightly negative... which is quite funny cos you wanted to start a whole debate about the issue.
Anyway.. again agree to disagree like i tried to do a while back.Anyway im really not gonna post again cos this topic is seriously give me a headache as tempting as it is to argue with you...ive said what i wanted to say.Besides a wise man once told me not to argue with fools cos from a distance ya cant tell who is who Im glad it helps you silent... no bullshit no sarcasm and i can totaly understand why you sorta take this whole thing so seriously,if i found somthing which helped my sa id be ranting and raving about it too. That said i get panick attacks when i try and smoke weed now.... doesnt matter what type,it makes me insanley para untill it wares off,so maybe you can understand where im coming from aswell. If not i couldnt care less happy smoking

I never disagreed with that at all... If you have a predisposition to schizophrenia you should already be well aware of the fact that using drugs could bring out signs of the illness in you. I totally agree with that.

It seems as if you read the title of the thread wrong or something. It's "Medical Marijuana Treats Anxiety," not "Medical Marijuana Treats Anxiety in those Predisposed to Schizophrenia." I never asked for that debate... somehow it got spun into that. Stop putting words in my mouth, please.
