They don't care about same interests or things you'd look for in a friend you just have to be an asshole and pussy's guaranteed. Men, on the other hand, are less shallow, as although they may care about looks a bit more, they also care about a nice personality, and look for the same qualities in a girlfriend as in a regular close friend.

In fact this portion of the post is just berating one sex while embellishing the qualities of the other.
To say women care for neither personality or appearance is ridiculous even as a personal assumption. If I were to add to stigma - women do look for qualities like confidence and assertiveness; what you fail to acknowledge is that isn't all there is too it, there needs to be someone behind it - a human being. The "who" and the break down stems to individual preferences.
But, if we're going to generalize, then it's blatantly obvious men put priority on a woman's physical beauty before inner beauty. As long as she is attractive enough they are willing to compromise greatly on the "personality". Even guys in this vary thread acknowledged this. It's the concept behind landing a trophy wife. It's why creeps will approach young attractive females - and why this attention dies as a woman ages. Less shallow indeed <sarcasm>
Now, if we were to move away from these generalization - getting our heads out of the gutter and putting our own frustrations aside - we'd be able to see the bigger picture; in spite of these "assumptions" there are plenty of people who do not fall into them. The media seems to propagate them more than anything. There are men who do not fall into this stigma as much as there are women. As human beings we are individuals after all and think for ourselves.
To the original poster, it's normal to express such concerns. This world has many problems but I say stay true to who you are - perhaps then you'll be more likely to find a guy who will want you for you.

Yeah..wtf is with that? I guess there is no guy in my future... I refuse to straighten my hair everyday to please a guy. Plus, it wont stay straight anyway.

^ I feel your pain. Even if I get it straight it goes right back to curly. It doesn't help that I live in Florida and there is high humidity.

Speaking as a guy, I'd say that all guys have different tastes when it comes to what is physically attractive to us. Some guys love straight hair, some love curly. Some don't care one way or the other. Just like some guys prefer blondes, whereas some prefer brunettes... etc.
