I'm going to explain why I think women like jerks better than nice guys. Women live for emotional turmoil, he loves me, he loves me not... passion and romance all good stuff to them (not so much for shy rational men). They want a guy who isn't predictable, a guy that is a challenge for them, a guy that excites them. A jerk can offer all of the above qualities, but in a twisted selfish way non comparable to a true Alpha Male.
Nice guys put their women on a pedestal, worship a woman like she is some kind of godess. This makes you predictable, you offer no challenge to her, you are labeled "boring". Nice guys try to hard, jerks just don't care what a woman wants, which results in him being the prize not her. All women (also men) want what they can't have.
An asshole creates all kinds of drama in the life of a woman, he makes her laugh and he makes her cry, emotional high and low points. You can rationalize all you want, and your arguments may be 100% correct, love is about creating feelings in a woman. You have to work her feelings not her rational mind. This is why nice guys fail and the asshole get's the woman.
But there is something you deffinitely want to take into consideration. The type of women that normally chooses to be with a jerk, have low self esteem, depressed, emotional issues and what not. Once you start making progress in curing your shyness you will atract another kind of woman, a well balanced one with self respect.

My bf is so sweet and nice. He is a good guy and i love him, i wouldn't trade him for anybody. I never thought that i would meet a guy like him.
Alot of people think that its only in foriegn countries with alien cultures were men are extremely domineering over woman, abusive of woman, dont allow woman to exercise free choice, ect.
Thats not true. In some of the small towns around Australia, especially inland towns out in the boonies, mate, we have the worst people you could imagine, and the way those neanderthals treat thier woman really defies belief, just the fact that we can have people like that in a first world country.
Those woman, to some extent, do realise that this isnt how woman are supposed to be treated, but they dont know how to expect any different. They have an addiction to be treated the way they are. That is literally what it is, an addiction. For them, it wouldnt work out with a nice guy its what thier like.
A requirements for a content woman in some of the towns of Australias pride and joy
- Husband must spend his entire wage at the pub drinking and gambling. Then come home late, drink himself into stupor, beat the shit out of his wife, then go to sleep.
- Husband must own a wide range of guns.
- Husband must shoot the pets immedietly if they bark too much or just generally slightly annoy him in any way.
- Husband must be completely ignorant of the world around him and hate everything and everybody. Tolerating blacks or anyone from any ethnic background is unnaceptable. Wife talking to an ethnic person means wife may be shot.
- Wife has no right to interrupt him when his with his mates, or ask him to do anything. Wifes role is to get his smokes and his beer then fuck off and not speak unless spoken too, otherwise, wife will have her head kicked in.
edited to add: And ofcourse, it goes without saying, wife has no choice as to when she has sex. She does it when shes told, like it or not.

Some woman on these threads said that guys are going after the hot asshole chicks and are ignoring the geeky chicks so it is the guys' faults. And she said that men should start asking out...bla bla bla. Excuse me, I thought we are living in times of equality. Why is that the man has to do the asking out, the paying, etc. If these geeky women want a man bad enough then they can ask the man out and pay his way and pick him up and take him home. Men have been doing that forever so women should return the favor now and even up the score. Also, guys, another woman said once that they don't like nice guys because they don't like butt kissers. I think the women have a very good point because I can't stand a wimpy guy who can't stand up for what he believes. The whole reason we have abortion and all of the other wicked things females have brought on society is because wimpy guys like the Supreme Court Justices could not stand up to a handful of scumbag murderous women skanks.
And what about guys that only like crap women. The women that treat them bad, the women that put ornaments in their forehead, and never even look at nice girls, because they are boring.
It goes the two ways realy, its the same for guys and girls.

Imagine growing up in a hard core muslim country. I'm you quitely will learn that it's natural, in the country's view.
Here in Sweden it's not too uncommon that we can read stories in the news about you girls refusing to live up to the muslim standards. They fall in love with some boy and wants to marry him and live a not muslim life. The father and brother hunts them to take home beat, them yell at them and marry to their prefered man, or very often kill them.
I am speaking for the worst cases. I don't know how common this is in muslim families in general.

The word "cowardly" is often used as another word for effectivly.
I think that bastards are let say 'well defined'. Everyone knows what to expect from them (they show it wherever they go). Something that people are most afraid about is 'the unknown'. It can be death, it can be some feeling or some person etc.. In this special case ("girls like bastards") it also applies: people who are quiet and shy (even though they may be really god people) are a mystery. Bastards aren't. In this way their well-defined personality and well known behaviors create some special kind of "security" (You can see to what degree they can hurt you and they seem not to be hiding anything). Everyone wants security and stability. Bastards are... stable ...in being bastards. )
