Power adapter for homemade iontophoresis

I'm making my own iontophoresis machine based on the instructions from shannonbowling on youtube:

YouTube - Cure Sweaty Hands, Palms, Hyperhidrosis, Hyperhydrosis

In his video, he uses a 24V 300mA AC/DC power adapter. Since he states in his video that the amperage of the power adapter doesn't matter, I went out and bought this unit (18/24V 1000mA):

The Source By Circuit City : AC Adapters & Plugs - NEXXTECH 18/24VDC 1000 MA AC ADAPTER

However, when I stick my hands in my aluminum trays, I can barely keep them in there for few seconds as all the muscles in my hands quickly contract. Is it possible he is wrong about the amperage? On some of the commercial units, I see they recommend settings of 15-30mA.

Any help would be appreciated! :)

Interesting, I want to try this.

Sorry for being a n00b to this, but do you know how and why this works (I don't have sound, so sorry if you explained it in your video)

hey, I just made a homemade iontophoresis, but I couldn't let it work properly.
I have used latern battery and power adapter, but the current is so WEAK, although I used 24v adapter or 4*6V latern batteries. I use a multimeter to measure the current intensity, it's only 2-3mA when I use 24V power. I don't know what wrong it is.

meanwhile, I have a commercial iontophoresis device, I can feel strong current flow with it (it doesn't work for me althought I have been using it for about 1 year), so I don't think the water in my area is too 'soft'.

my ac/dc adapter is '24v 600mA', I don't know why I can't feel the current when I use a homemade iontophoresis device.

help me, please

weird that 24v/600mA did no effect.. maybe it has to do with the water you are using.
