Question For Those Of You Who Are Married

How did you handle your wedding day? Was it excruciating for you or did you enjoy it? The wedding day is always something I dreaded because you are the constant center of attention. There's pressure on you to make speeches, dance in front of everyone and just be generally sociable. I turned out to be lucky in that neither my wife or I wanted this (she doesn't have SA but is a pretty private person). We got married at the justice of the peace's office with one of our friends as witness. I recently went to an elaborate wedding and don't know how I could have gotten through it.

My husband and I decided on a small wedding. Only a dozen people were in attendance. We put banjo music into an old boom box and enjoyed cupcakes from the local bakery. I wore a sun dress, and our neighbor performed the ceremony. It was tolerable. Mostly I liked it because of the personal attention I could pay the guests. Oh yeah, and it was the day after Christmas, so everyone that mattered was already there!

I have anxiety over a public wedding. I'm not sure if I can ever do it unless my future SO really wanted me too.
