SA possibly a Mental Illness?

I know SA isn't a mental illness but SA can progress to metal illnesses so I have mixed feelings to how to judge SA by looking at it as just an extreme shyness and weakness or SA is quite a serious disorder where it really needs to be seriously taken care of just like a mental illness.

I say this as I've developed OCD in my late teens as my SA got worse, and depression.

What are your thoughts on SA and the similarities of a metal illness?

SAD is a mental illness. It's not just a "weakness" and it should be taken just as seriously as any of the other mental illnesses.

SA is formally known under the DSM-IV-TR as "Social Phobia", so it is a mental illness.
