Shy Metalheads??? Am I the only one?

I wouldn't say I'm a metal head but I love metal and I'm too shy to headbanger around anyone... Maybe even myself.

Funny you mention that..b/c I'm the same way with screaming along to songs. If I'm alone, I'll sing along, but I silence myself when the screaming parts come up. I love the release of it in the song, but I feel embarrassed if I scream myself.

I think I'm more borderline with my music, though..where hard rock almost meets metal.

Rawz, I think it was you who was digging Soreption a while back. I got that album recently and really like it. Reminds me of Spawn of Possession.

Yeah, it's good stuff.

I have almost every album on the list I posted earlier. Ghoul's EP is pretty good. I do wish it had more lyrics though.

Earth Diver surprised me. I didn't like Cormorants earlier release, Dwellings, much which was a bummer because of how much I liked Metazoa. But I'm liking Earth Diver.

I haven't listened to much of Autopsy's latest release, so I can't comment on it. Same with Desecresy's release.

That it is! I listened to it twice today. Those guitars are thick and are mixed wonderfully. I listen to the drums mostly but I can't deny there is some great guitar work in Engineering the Void. Worth buying a shirt for this. :)

I used to be really into metal as a teenager, my musical tastes have broadened in the past few years. Recently, I've been thinking that listening to metal nonstop back then had a lot to do with why I stayed inside a lot and stayed angry, but then again, I also know that listening to metal made me feel a little better. I never got into the metal fashion, wasn't into anything "new" (post-2000), so finding other metalheads my age was impossible. I managed to go to a GWAR concert 4 years ago, only show I've ever been to, and it was a lot of fun. I used to play every Death album, especially the last 3. Their last one has great lyrics and guitar solos that still make me feel like crying. Death - Bite The Pain - YouTube

I make sure to revive it whenever it disappears.

I've heard of Weedeater, but I've only listened to a few of their songs.

Awesome! I saw weedeater back in the spring, it was crazy! The drummer used a cinder block as his drum stool! I was impressed

Coffin Dust released their first full length album this year. I wasn't a fan after my first listen, mostly because of the guitar distortion/album production. The guitars sound kind of recessed and lifeless, in my opinion. They just don't quite have the punch/energy/volume most modern releases have. But it's grown on me and there are a few sounds that have gotten repeated listenings.

Phobocosm is another new band I stumbled upon that released their first album this year.

Carcass' released an EP I didn't know that was going to happen.

I found out about Necrophagia and am a fan of some of their stuff. They also released a new album this year.

Then there was Gorgasm's release this year, and Cannibal Corpse's, Obituarys, and more.

Decapitated, Vader, Encoffination, Rings of Saturn, and so on!

New Cannibal Corpse is very good, actually. Gorgasm is on its way, too. :)

Good call on Destruction and Coroner. I have most of the Destruction albums, although to me they still lie in the shadows of Sodom. And there's no way I'm picking up The Least Successful Human Cannonball either! ::p:

Coroner is great. I haven't spent much time listening to Destruction so I'm not much of a fan yet.

I haven't spent much time listening to Decapitated's latest release, so I don't have an opinion on it yet.

I like At The Gates album. Beyond Creation's release is good as well. I'm liking it better than their first, I think.

I'm kind of disappointed with Revocation's release this year. I've been hoping for another Chaos of Forms type release.

First time I listened to Blood Mantra I didn't really like it, thinking it was plodding and didn't go anywhere. I have listened to it many times since and I have seen its secrets and I very much enjoy it. :) Give it a go.

I need to get more into this band. I have enjoyed the small amount of what I've heard so far.
