shy or introvert?

I read an article some time ago about the difference (so the main idea of the article was that there is a difference) between being shy and being an introvert.
More than shy, I'd rather consider myself an introvert :I never get bored by myself, I enjoy my own company more than the company of others.Of course there are moments when i actually feel the urge to socialize and then i do so (or not, here does SA intervene).I think the main difference between being shy and being an introvert is that an introvert is able, but simply doesn't feel the urge to socialize as he/she doesn't get bored with himself/herself, while a shy person might need the company of others in order to feel ok but for some reasons he/she has a hard time socializing. Here is a (not so sobersided árticle' about what being an introvert means

I'm basically agree with you in relation to the difference between shyness and introversión, I'm also another introvert. Perhaps, I became like this bc I only had myself since I didn't daré to contact with the outside world.

well im very introverted first and foremost but i can be socially anxious at times..i can also be shy and when you combine this mixture, ouch...

yes i rarely feel like socializing with anyone unless we really have something important to talk about..that is rare lol..makes it difficult to maintain relationships being this way as it seems you have to go out your way just to maintain contact..

I'm always unsettled as how the majority of people don't understand introversion, even though the concept is widely known. I stopped pretending I was outgoing about 2 years ago so I don't lie anymore when I go on trips alone or when I want to spend the day alone, I just say "I need my alone time" and people around me accept it, but I can see they still think I'm a weirdo. Since introverts understand the need of extroverts to be surrounded by people, it's a little strange that they don't understand our need to be alone as well.

Introvert.
My closest friends, used to be the only people with common interests that
wanted to befriend me.
Most of my life, ironically, people who had almost nothing in common with me tried
to hang out and become friends. Mostly in jobs and during University years.

Ah quite introverted. Well, tae pit bluntly I'm introverted as f***!

Ah don't feel comfortable aroon most people, even ma family - ah just feel outta place. Oh! And ah don't like be forced intae a conversation or social situation wi' some ah don't know that well because someone else want me to meet them or they want to meet me.

Also, most o' ma life people huv tended tae realise I'm weird - summit ma cousin rountinely reminds of when browsin' ma music collection - then buggered off. Also I'm boring an' naebuddy want tae hing oot wi' somebuddy boring.
