Not sure if this is right section, but it gets the most attention.Just wondering if anyone else has trouble sleeping? i spend 30 mins - 2 hours trying to get to sleep on bad days, and my sleep gets broken up because i will wake in the night and not be able to sleep for ages again,no wonder i allways feel so tired .
Any good sleeping tips? or am i doomed never to sleep a good night again?

i've suffered from insomnia just like yourself, i ordered ambien off the internet because i don't have health insurance and i was just sure to read about the drug. it helps... you just can't take it more than 7-10 days at a time; people can get depedent to ambien. after a week, i was able to rest well without ambien. use tylenol pm and if that doesn't help, see a doctor or get ambien by other means like i did. generic ambien is called nocpidem. insomnia can come from anxiety, paranoia and insecure thoughts at night definitely won't help you sleep. ._.

I used to spend 3 restless hours trying to get to sleep, but now I'm more active during the day and it has helped me enormously in having a good nights sleep.

When I've had a work day (its quite physical) I can get to sleep within 5 minutes! It's so cool, but also bad for when you lie down momentarily and wake up the following morning only to realise you've slept through the previous afternoon. :p

I understand that because of your insomnia you're gonna find it hard to push yourself to become exhausted enough to sleep easy, but nothing in life is easy ...so, why not try it?

Try running on the spot quickly for 3 minutes continuously getting faster. Then have a 30second break, then run again, break....do this a few times and you'll be exhausted in no time. :D [This is how my old boxing instructor tired us all out and had my body aching for at least a week] ...but don't let me put you off. 8)

I have no energy to run on the spot, could manage 10 seconds..then slow down to a walk on the spot...then crawling on the floor...then erm stop lol

I go through stages. During the summer i wouldn't sleep until 3ish in the mroning. I was so tired but I just couldn't sleep. I was crying out of exhaustion.
However, now I'm at school, I'm so tired from all the work and general "being" that I fall asleep almsot right away, plus i sleep when i get in from school - I'm sleeping so much my parents want me to be checked for anemia.
I think, if you're sleeping disorder isn't related to insomnia, its a case of trying to do stuff during the day. If i've been busy - or been running I sleep a lot better than if i've jsut been lazing around the house.
Admittedly its hard for us SP to get out..but if you're able to, i think it'll definately help.

hmm, i guess i didn't give thought to the fact that some people believe drugs aren't the answer to everything. :?

chamomile tea has calming, sleep-inducing properties that alleviates insomnia, headaches, and anxiety. valerian root is an excellent natural sleep aid often prescribed in anxiety-induced sleep disorders, and i believe you can find it readily in health-food stores and such. it's good to consume protein-rich foods in the evening, as they help your brain in producing serotonin (which helps in relaxation). there is a tea on the market called "sleepytime tea" that i would recommend. that's all i can think of for now.
