is there something your interested in that you can have a full conversation maybe sports or something?when someone is interested and asks me about science or astronomy(which i'm doing in college) i can have a full on conversation and even simile while i'm talking. If i'm asked about anything else or any of my other interests i go blank and can't speak.

There are a few topics I can really get into, but I usually end up trying to get more into detail and depth than the people I'm talking to really understand or care for... and just like you, when it comes to things that I'm not all that interested in, I can't talk at all.

I think the art of conversation, at least good conversation, involves a common ground. You just need to search for what this person and you have in common, everyone has something. I tried the whole sports thing, I got sick and tired of it for awhile and realized I never was a sports guy to begin with =P

rofl music. I actually make more enemies than i do friends when i talk about music. Death metal has ruined me for all other music. D=

Same...I always feel like I'm either talking too much or too little. When people ask me about something I'm interested in I always seem to go off into uninteresting or strange rants, and if people try starting a conversation about anything else all I can manage is a monosyllabic response like "m" ^_^;

Oh indeed. I can't ever really add to a conversation much when I'm nervous. But put me in a room where someone is talking about comics, Marvel, DC, Spider Man, Justice League, gaming of any sort or knowledge of bands from the 60's, 70's and 80's and I'm on it like Blue Bonnet.

I have a few. I can talk a lot about philosophy, mythology, nerdy stuff like Japanese anime, Lord of the Rings, Star Trek and video games as well as Conan O'Brien lately. I am wary of being annoying though about my "obsessions."

I like to talk about psychology for its very interesting and if I get a good conversation going we can talk about it for a long time.

i feel the same. i can have full conversations when talking about video games, basketball and music(heavy metal) where nobody listens but when it comes to other things i just can't think of anything to say. Too bad nobody seems to have the same interests as mine here in college.

Sports, games, music all I can talk about for extended periods of time. It's other things I don't know much about I have trouble with. Yesterday was a prime example of when I have nothing to say to people with my friends last night.

Man, I could go on forever about psychology. It's my major right now at the university I attend, so I'm forced to talk about it anyway, hah. Unfortunately, I think psych topics can get a little heavy for cocktail party environments.

I could talk for ever about animals and how unique and totally awesome each one is lol but most people aren't as enthused as me

Also nerdy stuff like Starwars (I know waaay too much about it lol) and Nintendo :D
