And that is why the most important thing for people like us is to become our own doctors and therapists.

I suppose you are right. This morning I was fretting over it, but then questioned whether it really mattered if I happen to have Asperger's or not. It's not like a diagnosis will cure me or even show me what I need to work on because I already know that. I definitely relate very closely to many of the symptoms, and I think what is important to know is that there are others out there who struggle in the same ways that I do.

I believe this is the unfortunate truth.

I've been to several shrinks. None of them could tell me anything about myself I didn't already know. None could suggest methods of improvement I hadn't already tried.

Ah well.
