OCD GOING AWAY

HI I WOULD LIKE TO TELL YOU ABOUT MY STORY WITH OCD AND ANXIETY

IT ALL STARTED WHEN I SMOKED LOTS OF WEED, AND I WAS UNDER ALOT OF STRESS BECAUSE MY GIRLFRIEND THOUGHT SHE WAS PREGNANT, AND AT THE AGE OF 16, I WASNT HAPPY AT ALL AND I WOULD WORRY ABOUT THAT ALL DAY AND TO ME I THINK WAS THE ON-SET OF OCD, WORRYING ABOUT ONE PARTICULAR THING, IF I HAD NOT REACTED LIKE THE WORLD WAS OVER BECAUSE I WAS ABOUT TO BE A FATHER. WELL TO FIGURE OUT SHE WAS NEVER PREGNANT AND NOW I FEEL REALLY STUPID AND I HAVE OCD (not knowing that i have it yet at the time) BECAUSE OF ME SELF MEDICATING WITH WEED, MY BRAIN DIDNT KNOW HOW TO REACT TO SUCH A THING LIKE OCD, SO I HAD MY FIRST PANIC ATTACK AND I WAS SCARED AS SHIT, I REMEMBER HAVING THE PANIC ATTACK AND ME LOOKING FOR A PHONE BOOK TO FIND A MENTAL CLINIC BECAUSE I THOUGHT I WAS GOING CRAZY, BY THEN I KNEW SOMETHING WAS WRONG, SO I GAVE UP WEED AND DECIDED TO LOOK UP ONLINE WITH WHAT WAS WRONG WITH ME
AND I HAD ANXIETY AND OCD, NEVER GOT A DIAGNOSIS BY AN ACTUAL DOCTOR, BUT I DID GO TO A DOCTOR TO ASK FOR SOME ADVICE ABOUT ANXIETY AND ALL THE DOCTOR COULD SAY WAS TO TAKE MEDICATION AND SHE TRIED TO PRESCRIBE ANTI-DEPRESSANT, WHICH I DIDNT ACCEPT AND DECIDED TO BEAT THIS CONDITION MYSELF AND NO MEDICATION. 3 MONTHS WITH THIS CONDITION AND NO BIG PROGRESS, UNTIL I FOUND THE LINDEN METHOD, HE HAD SO MUCH ANSWERS TO MY PROBLEMS AND THE PROGRAM HELPED ALOT BUT IT DIDNT MAKE OCD DISAPPEAR, AND FINALLY I FOUND A CURE...YES THE SOLUTION TO MY PROBLEM...AND THE CURE WAS SIMPLY THIS....
ACCEPT THAT I HAVE THE CONDITION AND LET IT DO WHAT IT WANTS TO ME... AND LITTLE BY LITTLE WEEK BY WEEK MY CONDITION WAS FADING, IT IS NOT GONE...ITS STILL ON MY MIND FOR THE MOST PART....BUT I CAN FINALLY PAY ATTENTION TO THINGS WITHOUT IT BOTHERING ME, YES AND I CAN WATCH TV...I KNOW SOUNDS KINDA LAME BUT I CAN FINALLY WATCH MOVIES AND SHOWS THAT I COULDNT WATCH BECAUSE MY OCD WAS BOTHERING ME SO MUCH....
BUT I AM NOW 7 MONTHS INTO MY CONDITION AND I AM GETTING BETTER WEEK BY WEEK

JUST REMEMBER...

TREAT OCD LIKE ITS ANOTHER TASK OF THE DAY AND DONT LET IT RUIN YOUR WHOLE DAY

LET IT DO WHAT IT WANTS TO YOU, AND YOU'LL BE FREE OF THIS IN NO TIME

STAY OFF MEDS

STOP SEEKING REASSURANCE
IF UR WORRYING THAT U MIGHT HAVE SOMETHING OR WITH A THOUGHT CHALLENGE IT BY SAYING TO URSELF...OK I'VE BEEN HERE BEFORE AND I CAN BEAT THIS...AND DIS EMPOWER THE ANXIOUS THOUGHT RIGHT AWAY... THIS IS THE ONLY WAY TO BEAT THIS....NOT UR FRIEND...NOT UR THERAPIST...NOT UR MOM....NOT ANYONE...BUT U!!! ALL THESE PEOPLE MIGHT HELP U WITH THIS CONDITION BUT NONE OF THEM KNOW WHATS REALLY GOING ON UNLESS THEY HAVE EXPERIENCED IT THEMSELVES....

AND NUMBER ONE THING TO IS DIVERT YOUR THOUGHTS, SO IF U FIND SOMETHING TO DO 24/7, THIS CONDITION WILL BE GONE MUCH FASTER THAN IF U JUST SIT AROUND THE HOUSE THINKING ABOUT IT ALL DAY....

Thank you so much for your wonderful post..
I have been experiencing Panic Attacks for 12 years now, and could not figure out where the constant scary thoughts came from.. I have seen way too may phsyco therapists, and do not want mind altering medication.. I finally diagnosed my own problem this week, and that is that I suffer with OCD.. Something none of the drs came up with, even though I repeatedly told them everything I was going thru..
I agree with you, this is a mind game we CAN win, if we let go of the fear, and let the thoughts come and go as they please.. It is a lot tougher than it sounds, because they can pop up at the most inoportune time, and scare the crap out of you, but you just have to follow the thought through, and then tell yourself, it is JUST a thougt, just like winning a million dollars is just a thought.. Will it likely ever happen, NOT IN MY LIFETIME.. LOL.. Anyway, I just joined this forum, and yours was the best post .. Thank you Again..
