in high school i wanted to be super popular. that didn't work out at all. i realized now at 21 that what makes me thrive are close relationships with a few people. when i have these needs met, i can feel confident in society, and among strangers. i am not satisfied by the prospect of multiple acquaintances. i have read a few threads here that claim to want the ability to talk to anybody at any time. these extreme goals may stem from long term isolation and is a desperate attempt for connection. my wisdom is to not to treat people as your experiments. treat them like real people. the goal is to foster relationships and not to have X number of notches on your belt on how many people you can talk to.
