Hi everyone, I used to suffer social and general anxiety really bad from when I was about 15, it was very crippling, i felt completely lost as a human, couldnt talk to anyone and just completely shut myself off, especially in Uni which was the hardest thing living with 3 other people all the time. Around 25 I started to improve through a variety of things including CBT and just really pushing myself through it. What I found really helpful recently is mindfulness, meditation, researching the mind, spirituality and all different types of things, i really like learning and reading.
Now 31 wouldnt say im anxiety free completely but I also wouldnt say anyone is really its more a case of how to manage and accept anxiety rather than get rid of it. I feel now there isnt really situation I'd be worried about going into, Ive managed to do speeches in front of people without a script, go up to girls and chat them up(not the easiest still), teach a class, start a business, basically whatever ive needed to do, my life is far from perfect (no ones is) but i can at least say anxiety doesnt stop me from what i want to do.
Anyway heres the video - https://youtu.be/ipQtkV-86N8
Would love to get honest opinions on it, if it helps feel free to share and what not.
I want to add a bit to the video as well, just to say its really about acceptance of anxiety so what you want to do is really just feel the anxiety, as bad as it is the more you avoid the feeling the stronger it feels to you, so really just be honest and let it happen. Hardest thing youll ever have to do but its something that can definitely help.
If you have any questions or anything just let me know. I will do more videos not necessarily all about anxiety but different topics about bettering yourself and stuff.
Anyway hope this helps a little and look forward to hearing your thoughts,
Biyi
