i seem to go thru phases of insomnia and then weeks when all i do is sleep. i think its my way of coping with sa cos then i just shut myself off to the problems altogether. some days it is an effort to get out of bed.

anyone else like this?

I experience like you periods of insomnia, despite being very tired. If I don`t sleep enough my SA gets a million times worse. When my energy level rise due to better sleep, limit stress and keeping a healthy diet including vitamin and minerals my SA is so much more controllable. Sometimes I have to take a sleeping aid as well. When my fatigue is worse due to stressful events, lacks of sleep, unhealthy diet (coffein, sugar etc) my SA-symptoms explode, and I have no control over my SA.

Yea I go through phases where I cant sleep good. Its not so much insomnia but more waking up after 3 hours and not being able to go back to sleep and it really affect my anxiety a lot.Thing bug me more and I get more stressed. Then there's time like now where I can sleep 12 hours strait without any problem what so ever.Feel much better after though.

I feel the exact opposite as you Septor. If I were to sleep for 12 hours I would feel horrible. Anything more than 8 hours makes me feel bad. However, if I sleep for only 4 hours I feel great and have a great mood.
