Thought I'd made peace with the fact that I'll always be alone; it wasn't bothering me much for the last year or so. But recently someone at work has been on at me constantly saying I should ask out a girl at work, this went on for months up till the point where I was about to do it, then he finds out she's not even single, so all the crap he'd been saying to me was just lies. Feel like a total loser again now. Marvellous.

Probably a good thing. Never date someone from work.

Loads of people meet at work. Quite a few people are married/with people from work where I am. My parents met at work.

OK, if you have social phobia and you are OK with drawing attention to yourself at work. Maybe it could end up OK, but there are so many ways that it could go wrong.

I have to agree with you mate, dating someone from the workplace can work out, but more often than not it can turn out to be a nightmare.
