Ok i just made a really long post describing why these 7 songs are not only very influential to many bands but also detailed description on their importance and what makes them so special ....so after pulling my hair out ive regained my composure and i'll just make it brief, but these are so good ...and their upbeat nature gives the a euphoric edge ..

motown

Chris Clark v Frank Wilson - Do I Love You
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tzC1OEKBH70

the most influential motown song ever recorded, it just builds and builds into something unworldy, it just makes you want to jump around the room.

Rock

Teenage Fanclub - Sparky's Dream
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9iuALpEXNlE&NR=1

the ultimate festival Rock song ..this Irish band were more important in 1991 then Nirvana ..they have 2 lead singers and are one of the most transparent bands of the of the modern era, listen to the backing harmony at the end, untouchable musicianship.

punk

Blondie - X Offender
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sZ6fpSdQQKc

The most covered song in punk circles ever, this is just bonefide gold songwriting on show, listen to the bass, the vocals, the drums, forget the clash, piL, the buzzcocks, the ramones, its the real thing!

Rap/ R&B

NWA - Express Yourself
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZAmPhbpK6y8

its lyrical poetic ryhmes remain unmatched.. this is why dr dre is so respected, listen carefully to the words, the sample and bassline is sublime

Pop

The Pippettes - Your Kisses are Wasted on Me
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BrCK2dbcJ0o

Forget the Spice Girls, this is what pop groups should be doing, innovative exciting harmony and oozing coolness ...

Dance

Underworld - King of Snake
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5hR6KfuanI4

Influential, Taken from the Everything Everything tour, king of snake is everything thats important about the early house scene of the 80's and the modern era wrapped into one package, amazing vocal ability, this band have actually been around since the early 80's ...still going strong

MEtal, Hard Rock

Queens of the Stone Age - Lost Art of Keeping a Secret!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KeAOCVexPjw

Back in 2000 the Queens released Rated R one of the albums of this decade so far ...Lost art was the lead single ,,it has mystique, its rich in textures of rythm guitar, finally a hard rock band that dont come across as a gimmick ...this is inspiring and Josh Homme is one of the strongest vocalists in music today.

Queens of the stone age... you sir have good taste! I saw these guys twice in an arena setting, both times i was blown away how well they pulled it off (stadiums normally sound like crap)

yeh i witnessed them back in 2001 at big day out while Nick was still playing bass mainly self-titled and rated r inclusions, and the slide guitar made a huge difference to the songs, i'll never forget that concert and your right about stadium shows, they are suited to that environment and set proper acoustics and amplification ...being a fan of kyuss and fu manchu before hand made it in an easy transition ...they bring a certain festival vibe that i cant get enough of..

^ Muse is great.

One of my favorite inspirational songs is Pig by Dave Matthews. I love the lyrics to that and it makes me think that I can actually start living

I listen to Robert Randolph and the Family Band when i need a little "uplifting". It's really polished-up turbo gospel, but it's funky as ever and it's all done with the sacred steel.
