all the negative ,bad ,really bad feelings you guys have, u name them, i have them, believe me,' cause i have been there for a long time. My very begining symptom is that there is no way for me to talk to people with eyecontact. I believe my life will be far better during the past 10 years if i got some professional help or even know our website.

now eye-contact thing is over, but things are not better ,much worse indeed. But there is one point i must say is that i've got a solution, 100% work for me, that is if i wear a mask ,i am totally ,absolutely all right. the minute i wear a mask i am very much relaxed, confident, smart and good looking, oh gosh,it is amazing."i've got the power"
but in real life it is not realistic at all to wear a mask all the time.
what the hell is my problem?
who can help me with my mask thing? anyone think same way with me?

What do you mean by mask? I am not sure that I understand. Are you imagining that you're a character in a play?

do u suggest that i should wear a mask to work or out to a night club, that would probably get me arrested or at the very least ridiculed.

So if it were socially acceptable to wear a mask you would not have social phobia. At least while wearing the mask. That's interesting. I think I would feel the same way.

I wish I could wear a mask but I think we all kinda do in a way. At least I feel like I'm always hiding behind one that isn't visible to the eye. Putting on a fake smile for everyone and trying our best to act like everything is ok. When I'm out in public I want to blend in as much as possible. I don't want to stand out at all. I try to be as mediocre and boring as possible.

Wow..This describes exactly what i feel all the time, Like i am wearing an invisible mask. I think one of the main problems some people with SA have is that we fear other people will discover who we really are behind this so called mask. That we are not these strong, care-free people we try to pretend(at least some of us) we are. In fact we are trying to divert the attention away from us by seeming to be Normal on the outside.
Its funny though, I sometimes feel like its trying to hide a broken leg. People in most cases will obviously be able to see that there is something wrong.
Its important to remember that there are no real consequences to being found out. So what if people know that you have SA? some will like you for what you are and some won't. And that is the case for everyone, even people without SA.
