What are some "soft" meds for social anxiety, anxiety, psychosis, OCD

my anxiety has Post traumatic stress disorder, panic, paranoia, LSD-induced psychosis where I start hearing certain voices, etc. Klonopin works great, but my parents want me to quit and take something much less dangerous. Is Zoloft any good? I hear it takes a while to work, but does it really work? And at what dosage would it be enough for my condition?

I really want to know. I think Ritalin is considered strong as well like Klonopin. Thanks for advice.

Zoloft or any SSRI is considered a soft med by me. The start dose is 50mg and you can work up to 200mg if you need to. I was on it up till 200mg.

Zoloft is an interesting SSRI cause at higher doses it also weakly inhibits reuptake of dopamine in addition to serotonin. The dopamine is good because low D2 binding is found in social phobes.

Benzos are fine is you dont take them everyday. This prevents tolerance and dependence.

ps. Im on 20mg of Leprexo, an SSRI its only been a week and I have very few side-effects. I do wake up earlier then usual and once during the night but it makes no difference to how rested I feel - usually I would definaltye feel it but the drug somehow counteracts that. It has also had no effect on my sex like, which seems to be the most common side-effect. Overall I feel great -- I dont care about what other people think, I dont think/review everything a million times, and I dont feel groggy so it all feels real. It seems like everyone reacts differently though but give it a go.

My best combo for someone with SA/depression would be Ritalin/Klonopin/Tramadol :D Best combo ever! Ritalin isnt that harsh of a medication when compared to Adderall or Dexedrine.

My combo goes like this: the Ritalin makes you social, happy, and counteracts any drowsiness from Klonopin, the Klonopin kills any jittery side effects from Ritalin, and the Tramadol acts as a really good anti-depressant with very few side effects. The Tramadol can also take away any headaches from Ritalin.

Good luck getting that combo from a doctor though. Anyone feel free to tell me what you think of that combo of meds.

Ps. if your psychotic, add some Geodon to the mix.

wew that's in no way a soft treatment >.> I guess I should try and go a bit natural like exercise/good nutrition/vitamins and go with a soft ssri like zoloft. thanks for the input though

Theres no such thing as a "soft" med for psychosis.

The LSD thing wears off eventually ;)

I like your combo Noca.

I'm tking concerta alone and it doesn't make me very social. When I am in situations I suffer some depersonalisation where I have to force myself to act and react in the usual ways. I think I need something to kill the anxiety on it.

I've tried tramadol and that works well for anxiety and gives a mood boost. Sometimes I can get quite irritable on it. Its available in the US and canada as Ultram for depression? Not here though which is a shame

Klonopin sounds great for SA but I doubt I would ever get that. I would love a benzo for social occasions but its unlikely. Docs here don't seem to like precibing benzos, especially not to young people.

Its like when I was suffering hell comping up on effexor, I hadn't slept for a week and was going mental. The doctor begrudingly gave me 7 zopiclone. A month later my dad goes in because he is having sleep problems.. Gets prescribed 30 zopiclone 7.5mg and is still on them to this date.
