What do you think of acne? (more directed at guys, but girls can answer, too)

I'm curious -- what do you guys think of acne? Does it keep you away from a girl, or do you just not care? This question is more for guys, but girls can give their opinions, too.

As for my opinion on acne on a guy, I never really thought much about it. I guess I just get caught up in my own acne problem so much that I fail to notice acne on other people. It seems as if most people I come across nowadays don't have acne problems. I feel as if I'm the only one with this issue (even though I know that's not true).

hate it, stops me from going out if its to bad and yes it would stop me approaching a girl.

rinse your face before you go to bed and try to keep your hair off

I noticed that if I rinse my face, then the acne becomes more severe. Since I stopped caring about it, it healed and never returned again. Occasionally I still get a zit, but that's more or less normal.

I guess I wouldn't mind it on a girl. That is, it really depends on her other characteristics.

Depends on what level. Might sound shallow but if it was really bad acne, I would find it ugly. Good thing in most cases, there are working treatments and it doesn't stay there forever. If it's just a few spots here and there, now and then, it doesn't bother me. Who never had a spot anyway, except for the fake photoshopped fashion mag girls?

I think acne is tiny puss filled or infected sebaceous glands that follow the hair follicle... Sorry... I'm currently taking anatomy and physiology and we have just gone through the integumentary (skin) system....

As far as dating or being with someone with acne... No problems, I would go out with a girl who had acne, wouldn't bother me at all...

I see very few adults with acne as it's mostly a teenage thing, and back in those years I was too shy to do very much with girls so I suppose it's always been more or less a non-issue. Still, I can't imagine it being much of a deterrent to anyone, unless it's truly severe.

i used to have horrible acne. mostly cysitc, which scarred the left side of my face. im very self conscious about it. I think the scars deform my face when i smile and stuff, it sucks :( Well I dont think the scars I have are that bad, its where they are on my face and how randomly spread they are. It looks weird.

if a guy had acne, i wouldnt mind. a clear complextion and good skin is nice, but acne has nothing to do with loving someone. Its not a big deal =)

I had a bad bout of it at the age of 17 to 19, my skin was greasy all the time and i felt dirty because of it. It was probably one of the worst periods of my life so far. I felt so ugly i wanted to die.

At the time i had it i was in college doing art. In life drawing class one excercise they gave us was us going into pairs and we had to draw each others face in the pitch dark by feeling the face, i was mortified when people almost ran away from me and i was left alone. I had to be paired with the lecturer instead.

That was a really insensitive task for your lecturer to set anyway. I have a theory that maybe teachers are as equally to blame for low self esteem as parents.
