Okay, this sound inmature but I just spent the evening pretending to be someone I'm not, interviewing people on chatrooms. I asked several teenagers (the same age as myself, only presumably louder) what their views were on shy people.
Half the time, I feel as though I could have talken to a shrub, and gotten better replies than these, but you may find at least one or two of these people's answers somewhat interesting, so I just thought I'd share.
It's word for word of how the conversations went but I took the liberty of correcting all of the misspelled words and grammatical errors, lol.
Conversation # 1
Me - "So what do you think of shy people?"
Her - "Shy people have a bad side."
Me - "They do, lol?"
Her - "Yup."
Me - "Would you mind explaining?"
Her - "They come off as goody 2 shoes when they know that they know just as much as us."
Me - So if they don't really speak all that much, how do you know that they know as much as us?"
Her - "Well nobody's a true angel, we all know that."
Me - "Well how does being shy, make you not know as much as anyone else?"
Her - "That is true."
So anway, that's how our genius conversation went. She really wasn't too clear on what she was trying to say.
Conversation # 2
Him - "Shy people are very talented but they never show it."
Me - "If they never show it, how do you know that their talented? And what gives you the idea that shy people are more talented that non-shy people?"
This guy then went on and on about this guy he knew from boot camp a few years back. I guess this guy hardly spoke but impressed everyone with his combat skills. :?

Twin #1 - "I think that shy people are just harder to get to know."
Me - "I totally agree with that! Lol, so, Angie, so what are your views?"
Twin #2 - "I think they should get over themselves. If people cared about how loud you were, I'd be dead."
Me - "Ha ha, good one!!!!! Lol, but seriously do you really think that it's that easy to overcome?"
Twin #2 - "If I were shy and wanted to overcome it, I'd just look at people around me. Other than just how I act and look."
I really think that this was just one person messing with me, pretending that they had a twin sitting at the computer with them, but you never know.

Him - "Shy people need to smoke some pot, so that they can put their brains to think more and faster in order to be able to open their mouth more often."
Me - "So your saying that shy people have slow brains?"
Him - "No if they just sit back and smoke a blunt the marijuana will impact that part of the brain that makes them shy. Heres a slogan to what I'm tryin to say, why be shy when you can get high!"
Me - "LOL, OMG. Great, you think that in order to cure themselves, shy people should smoke pot, lol. Okay so back to my questions, what do you think OF shy people?"
Him - "What's the question?"
Me - "Um, what do you think of shy people?"
Him - "In all honesty I think thats an open ended question in the way that everybody is different. For example, someone could be shy because they are scared of making themselves look dumb. Also, a lot of the shyest people always seem to be the smartest ones in the class."
Him - "But like I said, everyone is different therefore everyone is shy for different reasons."
Him - "Anywhere from bad experiences to different types of phobias."
Me - "I totally agree with that, lol. So do you know anyone who's shy?"
Him - "Yeah, who doesn't? I myself can be under that category at times."
Me - "So you think that shyness is very common?"
Him - "I wouldn't say that it's the most common thing but it's defintely out there most than it should be."
After we were finished with that, he started aking me all of this personal information. 8O Lol, I blocked the dude.

Him - "Ask away."
Me - "Okay so from your experience, what do you think of shy people?"
Him - "Sometimes I think that they just don't have much going on upstairs, that's why their so stupid."
Me - "So you assume that shy people don't say much, because their stupid?"
Him - "I think that some people are shy because their stupid, yes."
Me - "So 50% of shy people don't talk because their stupid?"
Him - "No probably only 30%."
Me - "So you know anyone who's shy?"
Him - "Yeah."
Me - "Do you hang out with that person a lot?"
Him - "Not really."
Me - "Why not?"
Him - "He's boring. I think most shy people are boring."
Me - "How come?"
Him - "They don't do anything. One on one conversations with shy people are usually interesting. But then their not very shy when their having a one on one conversation. Their opening up."
This guy was just a total jerk. Once we finished dicussing this he asked me if I could answer some questions for him. First he wanted to know what type of deodorant I used. Then he asked if I liked to shave my armpits?! :x Did I bring this upon myself? Was I really that bad?
