Well, i'm having an english exam next week. One of the questions is to write a paragraph about anything you like. I'm planning to write about social phobia.
what do you want others to know about social phobia?
I have some ideas but i could use little help. :)

 well i would like people 2 know that there is not enough awarness about social phobia. you always hear stuff about depression & bipolar disorder, OCD etc. etc. but what about social phobia? there are millions of people around the world who suffer from it yet you never hear anything about it. :?
there is nothing worse than having somthing wrong with you & not knowing anything about it or what exactly it is!
it just makes you feel worse coz you think your the only one with this problem!
(sorry if I'm rambling on)

i agree with the comments about the lack of awareness, but at the same time we are living in fantastic times. If we had these problems 100 years ago it isnt likely that any1 would know wot was wrong with us and we would all probably be branded as nutters!!!! haha

The fact we have treatments and internet support like this forum means we are not alone and that is an encouraging thought (well i think it is anyway)

I wrote about SP for my English AS coursework, and the teacher thought it was really great, it came straight from the heart, I had loads to write. She said I really made the reader feel empathy for him (the guy I was writing about). It was very emotional, as you can imagine.

Ironically though, soon after I got depression really bad due to my SP, and I missed my final exams so I failed the course :(

Thank you so much guys for what you wrote, I really appreciate it.
Kandikane:
type up social phobia on google then you can use that for your work
I know i can do that. But i want to get from its real source, from the people who experienced it. You can go to a travel agency and ask them about thei offers, they'll tell you it's GREAT. But ask a customer for the o get the real information.

Got te idea? :)

I agree that nothing beats experience. Reading about SA from a medical website and actually talking to someone who experiences it first hand, is often two different things.

Of all the therapists I have been to see, not one really had a good grasp of what SA is like for a person living with this day in and day out. You need to walk a mile in my shoes, as they say.

My advice would be to read some personal blogs from people living with SA. They tend to be much more personal and to the point than the average SA info site.

I am so happy, surprised and impressed at the same time because you are going to do this. This is a great idea man, we all appreciate it.

Well, i'd like you to say that many people are suffering from this thing and yet no awareness about it SHAME we feel like we are different creatures. And most important
thing is that you can never feel such pain unless you are a social phobia, DO NOT try to imagine how it feels to have it.
