Who do you resemble in your family?

I ask this question because I constantly have been getting told I look just like my Dad (Same thick brown hair, big blue eyes, skinny body, smile, face shape, eyebrows, chin, jawline, ect) They all say that I could be his clone or I'm a female version of him. Now there are few similarities that I share with my mother as well, but I wouldn't say she overall looks like me. We both have the same eye shape, nose, someone said I had her cheek bones but I think they're like my dad's to be honest. Anyways, I think I just have a couple of her features but I hate it sometimes when they say I look more like her than my father. It's pretty obvious that I resemble more of him than my mother, not to mention I share his mannerisms (even though a few people don't think so but I think it's because they're not around my Dad a lot to notice I act like him) and the way I look at people too. I even share most of his personality traits quietness, chivalrous, ect. I don't think my mom and I resemble each other too much other than similar features I have.

I've been told I look exactly like my dad, my brother is a taller and skinnier version of me, and me and my sister have the exact same eyes

I never got told it but I look exactly like my dad, with some added freckles and a lighter skin complexion. But, yeah, same eyes, smile, face shape. It was the first thing I noticed when I met him again during my teens. But I don't think I took after my dad in terms of personality traits much, aside from the intense focused drive to get things done and the short temper.

I've been told I look a lot like my brother. I have my father's nose and eye shape. In some pictures I look so much like my dad that it weirds me out lol. I don't look much like my mother or sister.

I think that I've been compared to my mother's mother when she was younger (I don't see it) my sister whom I thin we only share the eye shape, but I don't see it either. The only one who closely resembles me is of course my Dad. My Grandpa compared to one of my cousins when she was little and I also don't look like her except for blue eyes and thick brown hair.

In the face I would heavily resemble a female version of my deceased grandfather on my dad's side, but I also share many physical features in common with my dad including our curls, face shape, eyebrow and eye shape, nose, left-handedness, and blood type. We also have a very similar personality, liking our alone time with projects going on, and when we communicate with others we're less effusive than most people. We're also both engineers, but he retains information and grasps the foundation of how things work more quickly than I do.

I have similar body proportions to my mom (we're both long waisted and have similar hips and chest) and my skin is very pink/cool toned Irish skin like hers. I've been told we we speak similarly. I agree that our voice sounds very similar, but she speaks stylistically different with a New York accent seeping into some words here and there, pauses and emphasizes more, gesticulates a lot, and uses upspeak sometimes. I unsurprisingly have a Maine/Vermont/New Hampshire sounding accent, use the word 'wicked' for emphasis, sound less excited and less charismatic.

I look like everyone, esp my Dad, in my family which makes me sad because my older brothers used to tell me I was adopted when I was little like it would make me sad but actually it was funny because I had no desire to be related to them. Azzhole brothers anyways.

My dad. I'm burly and surly just like he was, except I have social phobia so I'm only mean to myself.

It's like that line from the Bukowski poem where he's threatening to strike his girlfriend and she says "Don't hit me, you'd hit me, but you wouldn't hit a man. 'HELL NO I wouldn't hit a man, do you think I'm crazy?'" ha ha.

I have battered self syndrome. :crying:

Anywhooo... I generally take after my father's side. They were fair skinned, stocky brutes with hooded eyes for the most part.

My dad mostly. And his mom, my grandmother. Or so people say, like a female version of him and/or identical to his mother. I'm short and petite like she was and my face I guess looks similar. I just don't have her dark brown hair. I have my dad's blue eyes and I have his ashy blonde hair. Or so I've heard. He's been gray since I was born. :giggle: I've never seen older pictures of him with his blonde hair so I have no idea what his hair used to look like.

I don't look anything like my mom. I've had people tell me before they don't realize we're mother/daughter unless we tell them. She has dark brown/black hair and peachy ruddy skin, hazel eyes, and is heavier.

You want to know how I got these scars?
I look like the guy in the bathroom. Don't know who he is but he is always in there.. he always copies me.. mimes me.. he's very good at it too. And the weird thing is, we look almost exactly alike! **spooky twilight zone music plays**

nope. I feel very uncomfortable at family events. I'm like some sort of alien, I don't look like any of my living family.

I look like my mom. In some pictures, I really see the resemblance and it is weird. People always used to tell me I looked like my dad, but our faces have practically nothing in common (I have my mom's nose, which is pretty prominent). Now that I have my own kid, people say that he looks just like me. He looks like the men on my mom's side, so I guess that sort of makes sense. A co-worker even commented today that she saw his eyes in mine (this is a comment we get frequently, as we both have long, thick eyelashes, and similarly shaped eyes, though mine are hazel, and his are blue/green). I love when people say we look alike and that he is cute. :)

I guess my dad's side more? It's hard to say I mostly look like members of my extended family and I guess my eyebrows are like my dad's. I don't look much like my mum other than height. We have different noses, my face is much rounder etc.

I take after my dad, which is sometimes the only reassuring thing in this world. We're an endangered breed of nerd, so we need to stick together. My family is a bunch of programmers, engineers, and sci-fi fans who don't like flashy electronics, anime, or heavy gaming. My dad's still cleaning up when other programmers bungle a job in his 60's but is downgrading from a smartphone, which is something I've been considering.

I often worry that admission of this would give the people around us a heart attack--how can anyone live without being able to access Facebook and YouTube 24/7 via the latest apps? And what do you mean you don't need a $3,000 gaming PC? Is Lem a food?!

Just curious, are you guys the eldest?

I've read an article before that first borns usually look more like their fathers because it is nature's way of showing that the offspring is really his.

I'm the eldest and I look like my father

I think I look more like my mom than dad. I'm the exact same height as her and have a similar body type. I don't look strikingly similar to either parent though. The one thing I definitely got from my dad's side was the huge nose though, not fair.
