Sorry to nit-pick, but its what I do...

I'll have to disagree with this. But i do realise that for some, getting (& keeping) a bf/gf is "easy", and for women its easier than men as since cave-man days the men have typically been the "chasers".

I've never been 'chased'. Is there something wrong with me? I am not unapproachable.

Before I wanted a gf, so that it would convince me that I'm not the most repulsive, worthless person on the planet. But I realise now that even with someone there for me, my feelings about myself won't change. So I don't want a gf anymore...

having never been in a relationship i would just really like to experience it atleast once. being 29 and having never known that kind of love has left me very lonely.

I kind of feel the same way, EdgeCrusher. Even though it's true what people say about having a boyfriend/girlfriend won't likely cure your problems. However, I think intimate relationships are a healthy part of life for 99% of people. Without them, I feel like part of my own life is incomplete. I've tried pursuing school, a career, having a home, addressing my own anxiety, but without relationships I feel I'm missing something.

All of the above, except for the showing off part. I personally havne't experianced dating, and I think that it's an aspect of the human comedy that would be worth flirting with.

I had to choose #4 "to show off", because whereas i wouldn't exactly be blatantly flaunting the fact that i had a girlfriend, i still need that knowlegdge that everyone sees me with somebody and that i'm not the only single person among friends and family anymore.

Yes, you are missing something. This feeling you have in your body is accurate. It's the feeling that goes with having a lack of intimacy with another person (unless it's something else, such as "lack of oneness"). Apparently it's an inate "need" for humans. Maybe it can be substituted for (eg physical intimacy with a pet), or maybe it can't.

I think I would do so much better with my anxiety because of that. I'm not bragging (really I'm not, I've been single for years) but in high school I had a girlfriend who was a 10, and like you said I never flaunted the fact but it gave me a lot of confidence.

Also I don't really do the casual relationship thing, I do the serious long term thing or nothing. Lately its been nothing, I miss having someone to share stuff with. ::(:

I do not strongly want a boyfriend, I think because right now so many conditions are not right for it, but eventually when I'm back in school, living independently and making progress again - I would look forward to such a thing.

I want someone to have discussions with about any kind of topic (no matter how deep or zany), go exploring with (from sandy beaches or leafy forests to snowy peaks), engage in a pillow fight with when they beat me at Super Smash Brothers Brawl and snuggle up against at night, admiring how he won't pull away from my cold hands and feet even though I know it can't be comfortable, haha. :D

Among the options, I chose the one that mentioned sharing, because I'd like my bf and I to be genuinely great friends as well as a couple and to be someone I trusted more than anyone.

I want to have my heart chakra opened up for a lot more of the time than it currently is. I want to be able to radiate love to all those around me and also receive plenty of love back, not just sharing love with a partner, but to all those that need love in their lifes. First though I must learn more about love and having a partner would greatly help me in this quest to discover how to open myself up and share all the love that I can.
