I'm sick of this I can't listen to the radio, watch tv, go on facebook anything, why because the news is only full of negative things. To make it worse there is wanna be sites that say there news and say something completely crazy. Then they get panic arising, no wonder this world is so depressed cause people just focus on the bad.

The few that run the show know that FEAR controls all. They spend all of their time and massive amounts of money doing studies on human psychology and it all boils down to "How do we control the sheep" ....enter "The Wolf"....(aliens, demons the devil, terrorist etc....)

It's almost laughable anymore, now that I have become aware of these things.
-Be-headings and Ebola and Hillary for President-OH mY! Lions and Tigers and Bears OH MY!!!!

I agree don't read it, watch it consume it in any way. It is all a bunch of lies to manipulate humans.

Do some research and find out for yourself, nothing is as it seems.

I feel foolish because I read that 2 ebola patients got up from the dead, but yet I know that its fake. Yet foolishly enough I am worrying about it. I try my best to avoid the media but my best friends mother is always listening or watching it. I get anxiety attacks every time I hear it and its going to be part of my life.

Your friends mother is addicted to "fear porn". This is very common.

Just know that you are not that susceptible with the knowledge of what it is all really about-watch those videos for a good look into it.

You are sensitive, so stay away from it if you can.

Thank you for the reply I agree most of the time I don't believe it but its so hard to avoid. I try my best not to listen but my autism is so curious that it likes to listen. Then Bam I have an anxiety attack because of my curiosity. I hate the media I can't even listen to them without feeling sick.

Find good, balanced, non-commercial sources of information that you can trust and switch off the radio/tv where you can, and use common sense

That's a good name for it. I honestly think a lot of people just get a kick out of being upset, even if they have to dig up offensive articles from years ago.

What's going to get more views and be reposted more online?
a) Senior care center receives enthusiastic new volunteers
b) Cop BRUTALLY beats DISABLED FEMINIST POLYSEXUAL TRANSETHNIC TEEN!!!!11

I find another bad source are all of these websites on the web that people share, they always have a completely different story than the other one. Like for instance today where I seen the article was from infowars.com and I did my own little research and found out what they said is completely stupid.

I get that, but why create something that's completely bull and use it with the event to make it sound worse. Why would people want to do that to one another.

Because many humans feel some odd attraction to negative events. Media exploits this.

I went and I fixed my facebook. I added facebook purity to remove all the news articles and I deleted all of the anxiety causing pages.

I dont listen to the Radio and I don't watch TV. I don't read newspapers or log on to news websites. I watch films I want to watch and listen to the music I like. Facebook is for my friends, not Will Smith. The patronising adverts make me sick along with the sicko news channels. Its voyeurism. If you've ever had dealings with the press you'll realise 2 things. Good news doesn't sell and a reporter doesn't want to be your friend, its a dangerous combination. The electronic age gives us a great opportunity - we can turn it off...

Oh,I see so you cannot physically get away from it, and you have issues with it from autism....

This is so tough. I have been in those situations too with work for example, a radio playing you cannot turn off.

Try you best to stay away. Your friend should understand if it distresses you, if not explain to him/her and stay away when possible.

I know it sounds weird but try to create a mental force field around yourself, use imagery that your safe and protected from harm with this force field. Lately I have been trying that since my anxiety has been worse with stress. It does seem to help me when i can remember to do it.

"There's a war out there for your mind"-I hope Alex Jones didn't say that(you quoted Infowars) LOL but it is true!!

Well usually I try to block it out with music but my music isn't always there

Humans focus on the negative. If someone was giving you food and someone else was about to hit you over the head with a rock you would disregard the first guy and focus on the perceived threat. It's a defense mechanism. We pay attention to the bad thing so we can try and prevent it killing/harming us. The media cashes in on this. "Which common household product could kill you? Find out by watching the news later". And because everyone is out there fear mongering to get our attention it has gotten to the point where we are just bombarded by fear inducing things every second of every day. It's not exclusive to fear either. If you have a toothache it's all you can think about. It's agony and you just think "woe is me". But whenever you don't have a toothache you don't think about how awesome it is to not have a toothache. Ever since someone told me about that whole toothache thing sometimes I'll just think to myself "I don't have a toothache" and i'll just smile.

EDIT: But when the media is telling you about the bad things it's usually something you cant do anything about. So it compounds the fear

The news causes me anxiety too. I think that it gives the impression that the world is a horrible, scary place. But that is not really true.
