To be fair, not talking or being anti-social is just as egotistical as being someone who seeks attention. Sure, some people who talk have that "me, me, me" attitude that is selfish, but isn't isolating yourself selfish in its own right? I really hope the op develops some good friendships soon cause your missing out.

Although I do enjoy alone time (which is very often), it gets you in your head too much, seeing other people, such as a random stranger greeting you puts a smile on your face.

I find other people are just too hard, there's always expectations and judgements and ultimately people will do what's best for themselves, regardless of how it affects the people around them. I'm always the sucker that doesnt see it coming.

I, do well with just having one person, I have been like that my entire life, I’ll always have that one person, when I was alone it was ok, but it did get lonely and I imagine the up keep of popularity to be a hassle.

I really don't mind being alone at all. But for an extended period of time it gets bad. It's easier during the winter because staying inside is cozier and preferable. But now that Spring is here, I feel kind of crappy because I don't have anybody to really go outside and enjoy the weather with. Ultimately though I have come to like simply staying in and reading or playing a game.

i dont mind my own company , and spend a lot of time in my own company , my social life is at work these days , but i do get a little lonely sometimes , im glad to go back to work monday morning just to talk to someone sometimes .....

I know what you mean Splinter. I do sometimes want to have someone to talk to or hang out with but when I am around people I don't seem to care. Well there are some people I would like to get to know but usually don't care because I wouldn't think they would want to talk to me or anything. But if I do talk to them, we probably wouldn't know each other very long. Maybe they would go away, maybe I will or we would just stop talking.
