With iontophoresis, is a higher amperage better?

I ask because sometimes I can do 40V at the same pulse width and the Hidrex shows 2mA and other times it shows 22mA. It seems to vary quite a bit, and I realize that's because my own body resistance can change pretty quickly. But is it the voltage that matters or the current? If during a session, I'm noticing the mA is staying low, should I raise the voltage to try to get that mA back up? Are sessions where I'm at 40V and 2 mA not as good as 40V and 22mA?

I also wondered the same. I hope someone can shed some light on this.

I've found that lower amps works best for me. For hands typically around 12. Why? Not sure but that is what works best. I have read others having better success with lower versus higher.

I find that higher amperage is better, yes. If you can take it. Higher amps = more discomfort, naturally.

Over my first year I slowly built up and settled on 28mA. At that level I only really have to do it once every 10 days or so.

I agree with higher amp being better. What worked for me is starting at 14.5mA. I think you should feel a continuous tingle bordering on discomfort.
