For my anxiety and depression doctor first gave me Wellbutrin XR but shortly into it I was very angry and agitated at people no reason. Even couldn't look at people in face lest they see me angry and think I ticked off at them. And I would be up all night unless I had sleep medication.
So the doctor put me on Effex0r instead -- that was something else for me. I would wake up at night and look at my hand and it take on a different shape and form. I was buggin' out.
But now the doctor given me Celexa to take and no more sleep helping medications, so I hope this stuff will do the trick in that department too.

What I am asking is: (For any you have been on Citalopram for any length of time) Does it make you restful and able to get good night sleep after a time? Is it best to take it at night, morning or afternoon? (I usually take in afternoon.)

Thanks for any input and interested to hear perspective of others who are on this med.

I've been on it a month and the doctor wanted me to take it at night but I started taking it in the morining b/c the first week I was on it, it made it harder to sleep (same happened to me with paxil). Now it seems to have no effect on my sleep.

I took Celexa recently and it had very little effect on me, except the sexual side effects.

I am currently taking Wellbutrin and that has affected my sleep.

I take a whole load of pills in the morning, and nothing affects me at night. I really need sleeping pills though, or else I just can't get to sleep, because I really just do not get tired. If I don't take one I might sleep for like an hour or so. The only sleeping pill that has ever worked for me is trazodone. It just makes me really tired and that's it.
