Can you just tough it out and eventually get better? Force of will? In these kinds of cases, many people will assume that the person with anxiety is just lazy and cowardly. Some will say that everyone feels anxious, but they just faced their fears.
Will joining the military cure it?
What is the real thing that social phobic's are afraid of?
When someone ask me ''What are you afraid of?'' I always say, I don't know the real reason.
But I know I'm afraid of judgement. But that's weird to say.
I want to give a better explanation.
Is SP embedded into genes or no ? Or is it caused ONLY by past experiences ?
Im not talking if an introverted, shy personality is in the DNA, cause that can be.
Anyway, I want scientific proof for your answer ::
no joining the military will not cure it my advice for you dont try to force your self to face your fears that way because it will not work this way will just make you suffer much more because military is all about orders you cants tell them i cant do this because i have social phobia
you have social phobia because you have alot of negative thoughts running inside your mind
the only way will help you to end this suffer is by changing this negative thoughts with positive thoughts
you are not coward but because of the negative thoughts you have your brain see any social situation as a threatening situation then your body start pumping a huge amounts of adrenaline
do your self a favor and stop thinking about military
your cure is called "CBT" cognitive behavior therapy
no social phobia is not a part of the human but its something you develope with time because of you behaviors values and beliefs
for example :
-you care soo much about what people say and think about you
-you beat your self up for any mistake you make no matter how small it was or when it happen even if it happensd when you was child
-you compare your self with others
-you try very hard to make others like you
-you try to be the best
-you try to be perfect
-when you are sad or have a negative thought you just sit and do nothing
and much much more
so the best way to fix your behavior and beliefs system is startting "CBT" therapy
Why are you in any way a credible source to seek answers and not opinions from?
why do some (if not all) SA ppl feel the need to be accepted by everyone else ?
well........is incoherence part of social phobia?? i cant seem to relate or find what people are meaning or can i find ppl i relate with and if i do i dnt have any feeling for it like i know ppl like friends who relate and makes eachother "tick" and this is fulfilling for them and what "friendships" are about but i always fail to feel part cuz my lack of seeing where the other person is comin from
so??? idk what u think
yes i am very sure i am not a doctor any way so ask many "CBT" doctors before taking this decissionAre you certain?
well others will be out there having fun and they will not give you a second to think how are you doing except sure for your familyTo prove to others that I can do it too
who cares what others think if you want to fix that try "CBT"but at work, I always feel like I'm being judged over the smallest of things. What do you think about that?
What do you think about dr Richard's "Overcoming Social Anxiety Step By Step" audio tapes? Is that any good?
Why are you in any way a credible source to seek answers and not opinions from?
I would just like to say that I personally think genes do affect your chances of SA. not only have I definitely read it before, I'm living it. You could say that past experiences aside, I pretty much inherited the genes for SA from my dad: he exhibits the exact same symptoms that I have, and my brother sometimes does too, my brother's is just not as extreme. Also, I've talked to someone whose two other brothers and sisters also had SA: so all three of them did. So I would definitely have to say that SA is part genetic; not always, and it might also have to do with personality traits that influence it, but theres no doubt that it does.
