if you have a question about socialphobia i will be glad to try answer your question

Can you just tough it out and eventually get better? Force of will? In these kinds of cases, many people will assume that the person with anxiety is just lazy and cowardly. Some will say that everyone feels anxious, but they just faced their fears.

Will joining the military cure it?

What is the real thing that social phobic's are afraid of?

When someone ask me ''What are you afraid of?'' I always say, I don't know the real reason.
But I know I'm afraid of judgement. But that's weird to say.
I want to give a better explanation.

no joining the military will not cure it my advice for you dont try to force your self to face your fears that way because it will not work this way will just make you suffer much more because military is all about orders you cants tell them i cant do this because i have social phobia

you have social phobia because you have alot of negative thoughts running inside your mind

the only way will help you to end this suffer is by changing this negative thoughts with positive thoughts

you are not coward but because of the negative thoughts you have your brain see any social situation as a threatening situation then your body start pumping a huge amounts of adrenaline

do your self a favor and stop thinking about military

your cure is called "CBT" cognitive behavior therapy

the real thing that any one have social phobia afraid of is what people think and say about this persion

the difference between the social person and the social phobic person is that social people dont really care what others think and say about them you can see them doing very stupid and embarrassing things and dont really care

people have social phobia care about what others say and think about them because they have this negative thoughts that keep running inside their mind saying that they will do something very stupid and embarrassing and they dont know how to stop this negative thoughts

Is SP embedded into genes or no ? Or is it caused ONLY by past experiences ?

Im not talking if an introverted, shy personality is in the DNA, cause that can be.

Anyway, I want scientific proof for your answer ::p:

no social phobia is not a part of the human but its something you develope with time because of you behaviors values and beliefs

for example :
-you care soo much about what people say and think about you
-you beat your self up for any mistake you make no matter how small it was or when it happen even if it happensd when you was child
-you compare your self with others
-you try very hard to make others like you
-you try to be the best
-you try to be perfect
-when you are sad or have a negative thought you just sit and do nothing

and much much more

so the best way to fix your behavior and beliefs system is startting "CBT" therapy

Are you certain? Because I am thinking of trying out for one of the elite military units eventually. To prove to others that I can do it too. Won't the tough discipline thing help at all?

You're right there about the adrenaline thing for sure... I've gotten over the anxiety in purely social situations, but at work, I always feel like I'm being judged over the smallest of things. What do you think about that?

I would just like to say that I personally think genes do affect your chances of SA. not only have I definitely read it before, I'm living it. You could say that past experiences aside, I pretty much inherited the genes for SA from my dad: he exhibits the exact same symptoms that I have, and my brother sometimes does too, my brother's is just not as extreme. Also, I've talked to someone whose two other brothers and sisters also had SA: so all three of them did. So I would definitely have to say that SA is part genetic; not always, and it might also have to do with personality traits that influence it, but theres no doubt that it does.

What is the difference between social phobia and shyness, and do they both have to be present at the same time?

why do some (if not all) SA ppl feel the need to be accepted by everyone else ?

because any one have social phobia treats people like "gods", any one have social phobia make the rest of people his reference he take their openion like the truth

and this is a big mistake every person live on his own world every person see the world in different way every one evaluate others depending on his own experience in life, people personality is like finger print you will never find two persons have the same personality

no one can make every one like him its no big deal any way, you are equal to any one else when you make people like gods my make your self a slave so when you do this you just insult your self

what you need to do is to take a fixed point to evaluate your self for me i take god as my fixed point god never change the god mood and personality never change just care about what your fixed point think and say about you and forget about others

respect your rights and duties and respect others rights and duties

sure is a part of incoherence when you overcome social phobia you will find your self acting exactilly like others but for now because your beain have alot of negative thoughts that disturbs you from seeing the truth about others and the huge amount of adrebaline that your body pumps its hard to feel in peacein social situations

thats why you feel incoherence

ask your doctor for a medicine to reduce adrenaline if you feel scared in social situations and start CBT therapy and you will see the difference

To prove to others that I can do it too
well others will be out there having fun and they will not give you a second to think how are you doing except sure for your family

but at work, I always feel like I'm being judged over the smallest of things. What do you think about that?

you can learn social phobia from others and before you belive that its a gene that cause SA you have to ask CBT doctors first

dont just read some one else post and belive it not mine not others
