SweatX treatment experience

Hi, I would like to share with you my experience with the SweatX treatment so far. I have generalised hyperhidrosis, however, only my hands, feet and to some extent my underarms sweat during rest. My forehead and back sweat with light work when it's a bit hot.

Recently, a beauty clinic in my country has acquired a machine called SweatX that can target the sweat glands on any area in the body and deactivate them. It uses RF technology to selectively heat the sweat glands by exciting the water molecules they contain (99% of the water in the upper skin is concentrated in the sweat glands). They say that it lasts at least 9 months, but that's only because it's still new and they can't be sure it's permanent. However, it's very likely that it is permanent. They recommend to have 4 treatments per area, one per week. The machine has 2 hand-pieces, one for deep penetration and the other for shallow treatment. For example, on the underarms, the first hand-piece is applied for 6 minutes and the second for 4 minutes. So 10 minutes total per underarm. The cost is USD450 per area for the 4 treatments. I elected to treat the 3 areas that bother me most, that is the hands, feet and underarms. So the total cost is 3*450=1350. I think the cost is similar in Germany but much higher in the UK and US.

I have made 2 treatments until now, and tomorrow will be my third. There's no need for any preparation or pain relief medication during or after the treatment. The hand-piece cools the skin surface to numb it a bit. You generally only feel a bit of warmth during the treatment, however sometimes it gets a bit unbearable. I can't say for sure that there's an improvement in any of the areas up until now. I have read the research paper that the company have published (only for underarms) and it says that most people will feel a significant difference after the 3rd and 4th treatment, and that the reduction will continue for about a month after the last treatment. So hopefully it will be the same for me.

I will be sharing with you my experience with the rest of the treatment.

The studies made so far seem to be only for underarms. I also found some information in German about new studies for palms of hand and soles of feet being conducted with favorable results. However, the beauty clinic I'm going to is advertising it for the underarms, hands, feet, groin area and forehead on their website. When I talked to them, they also said it can be used on any other area of the body because it uses similar technology to that used in machines that are used for fat reduction, which were used safely everywhere on the body. Those machines are made by the same manufacturer, Alma Lasers. I know that it's available in the US, Germany, Netherlands, Turkey and Lebanon. You could try searching in your language and see if you find anything.

No, it's not in the US. While searching on the Internet I did find a center in the US that does it. It's called Vein and Cosmetic Center of Tampa Bay, in Tampa, Florida.

I've had email contact with the Vein and Cosmetic Center of Tampa Bay, Florida.
Indeed they do offer the SweatX treatment....but only for the underarms, not for the hands or feet.

Why does the Vein and Cosmetic center not offer it for hands and feet, but the one marcoter went to offers it on those areas?

Beautify at AMS in Chicago offers it but not sure what areas and they also have a groupon going on for it.

Since the only clinical study completed so far is for the underarms, there might be some regulations in the US that don't allow using it on other areas.

I would like to point out to other readers that there's a video on YouTube that shows it used on the hands in an episode of The Doctors show in Turkey. Just search for SweatX.

Yesterday was my third treatment. I do feel that there's some improvement on the hands and especially on the underarms. Not so on the feet. However, the improvement is still not significant enough so I still can't say for sure.

I would like to point out that what I paid for covers not only the 4 treatments, but any additional treatments I might need are for free. So I can keep doing these weekly treatments until I'm satisfied. I think that the larger areas such as the hands and feet might need more treatment sessions than the underarms.

Hmm I am close to chicago and they have a groupon right now for 6 treatments at 359...I should do this! Ive been using oxyb for about 12 years. Would be nice to be able to stop!

I also just found out about the myradry procedure today. Sounds fairly similar...I haven't done much research on it, so I'll start digging into that. From some peoples comments on it, it looks like that is about $3000 bucks. Though, not to take this off topic, so I'll start a new thread on that or latch on to one that may already exist.

Hi Marcoter,
Is the SweatX treatment also done on the sides & back of the fingers?
Or is it only on the face of the palm?
Hopefully a 4th treatment will work out for you :)

Hi. They told me they could use it anywhere you want, even on the groin area. Of course if the area is hairy, it should be shaved first.
