A SOLUTION THAT ACTUALLY WORKS?? Please Read

Like most of you in this forum, I suffer from Social Anxiety.
If I have to give a presentation, it's hell.
If a cute girl is standing next to me, I get very nervous.
If I'm being watched or looked at by other people, I tense up
and my heart races. I'm sure you guys know what it's like.

To get straight to the point, have any of you found the solution to the problem.... the thing that makes S.A. manageable and allows you to lead a "somewhat normal life?" (going out with friends, succeeding at school
and in your career, socializing)

I realize that S.A. probably cannot be cured 100%, but do you know
of any treatment that works really well?

I have taken Paxil (seroxat) for 6 years and yes it has helped quite
a bit with my social anxiety, but there still is some anxiety there. The big
problem is that this Paxil makes me sweat like crazy. It's so embarrassing. If it wasn't for this sweating, maybe I would be OK.
I'm going to try the Avert pills for the sweating but I dunno...

I heard that beta blockers can help quite a bit. That's good.
But I think the propranolol is usually intended for specific events
like a presentation or a performance, not every day use.

There's exposure therapy. I have tried it a bit and didn't get any
significant results (but granted I didn't do it often).
Meditation maybe? CBT? How long would this CBT last?

So in conclusion, if any of you have found a way to treat your
S.A. and be able to socialize and have a good career or a good school life,
then please tell me how you did it.

I would like to get off the Paxil and stop sweating but if I do that
I would need to manage my S.A. somehow, rather than letting it
stand in the way of presentations and socializing and job interviews, etc.

I'm going through CBT right now actually. Helping slowly, but helping none the less. I really believe it's gonna do wonders for me in the future.
Meditation helps relax for a while and will help you accept yourself as you are more, but it won't help you find it easier to talk to people. But I do it anyways because it makes me feel really tranquil and relaxed.

Hope this helps :)

Thanks people.
It's just so hard to function properly with social anxiety and/or hyperhydrosis. Going to school, getting a career, job interviews,
socializing... it's a big struggle.
