Anyone in New Orleans?

I'm going to be visiting New Orleans later in September.

What kind of weather can I expect? (I'm sort of expecting hot and humid, but really hot? Really humid?

Any info would be welcome.::

Good question. Its about this time 4 years ago since Katrina. Is there much of a population left in the Big E now?

Actually not a good question. The outlying districts were harder hit, and I think recovery is slow. But the French Quarter, Garden District, etc. got cleaned up fast.
Far as I can tell, there is still great food, great jazz, great ambience--and I could go on.

But--to deal with something on-topic--what weather will I likely face mid-September?
