You don't eat vegetables?
Broccoli, mushroom, spinach, lettuce, cucumber etc, but compared to something like a carrot, they're essentially (and pretty much are) sugarless
and yes, a calorie is a calorie and that is all that really matters if all you care about is losing weight. I mean, yeah, if you consume less than you need, you lose, if you eat more, you gain.
but also, and I'm sure you'd agree, a diet of of krispy kremes and toast with a 500 calorie deficit is not going to allow the person to progress well...except maybe purely at losing weight. I mean, if you have 3000 calories to spend in a day, why not spend them most efficiently and get the most bang for the buck? If your daily calorie budget is so great that you can get all your basic nutrients and still **** about with empty calories, so be it. I think that it would be a bit hard for someone just coming off from a shit diet to focus exclusively on calories and still get the nutrients that they need... not to mention that an undisciplined person at 2950 calories and only 2 doughnuts left is going to have a hard time holding true.
..Of course, it's hard to find decent foods for a good price.. and you'd probably end up needing frozen and or canned vegetables since fresh are absurdly expensive, but whatever
