I learnt from a confident woman at toastmasters that one of her techniques was to not wear her contact lenses when she is up infront of all the people.
Since then I have tried it. Teaching, walking around etc. Its fantastic. I can't see people's faces, so feel as worried. I know that the brown smudged circles represent people's faces, but its alot easier to forget that they are when you can't see eyes, expressions etc.
When I get closer, they come into focus, and sometimes they are staring at me.
I told a confident friend about this with teaching. He said he understood why Id make myself blind like that, but said that for him, he wouldn't want it, as he couldn't properly gauge how the kids were responding to him.
I tried to figure out how I can turn it on and off and realised; glasses are the key. I usually wear contacts, but if I have glasses, then I could reduce anxiety or increase reality as easily as taking them off, putting them on.
