The fiscal cliff approaches

Today is the last day for the President and the Congress to agree on a deal to prevent the various economy measures coming into operation (colloquially known as the "fiscal cliff"). That event is predicted to be damaging. Could they really be so irresponsible as to let it happen?

Is nearly 17 trillion in debt a sign of responsibility? What's the debt in Australia anyway?

It's too depressing to think about.I can't even watch the news anymore because it's too frustrating and there's not a darn thing we,the citizens, can do about it.

It makes great news stories.
News websites get heaps of clicks, the public are viewing more tv......
keeps the advertisers happy making more $$$. The answer usually leads back to advertising.:thumbdown:
