I remember having a holiday in Mexico many years back & seeing a poster of Bob Marley in some down trodden bar. It dawned on me way back then that he is probably the most famous face in the world. He has also wrote some of the greatest songs of all time..
I believe he has more recognition than Elvis, who never mean't shit to me..

I agree with silvio. I think Che Gueverra should difinately be at the top of the list. You could also Add Castro- bin Linden- The former chinese leader-ramzy from egypt-John f Kennedy from USA and his old rival from russia that came after stallin. Also Ghandi-Pazirro-the guy from moby dick-The queen of Uk during 1800-Juileus Cesar-that french general-the last pope-
and lets not forget the Ronald Mc Donalds and fried chicken guy. Does that big mouse character count?

If you look closely there is a clear pattern. It is not celeberities but mostly rebels.
Especily the Robin Hood socialist types. Movie stars shine bright but fade fast.
