what's the difference between anxiety and adrenaline?

in my attempts to kill insomnia, i've decided to start exercising (in my room for now where nobody can see me) just doing simple shit like pushups and situps, but i realized the most strange thing. i love adrenaline and getting pumped up, but i absolutely hate it when i'm being confronted or yelled at or whatever else makes my SA meter shoot sky-high.

anyway, from what i've been reading, anxiety actually triggers an adrenaline response... so how come exercising with death metal blasting until my bones ache feels great, whereas being asked out on a date totally makes my body freak out?

is there actually a difference or am i just looking at this the wrong way?
