Terms of use and legal notice
Purpose and acceptance
These terms govern access to and use of socialphobiaworld.com, a forum where people share experiences and support about social anxiety and related topics. By using the site you accept these terms in the version published at any time. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site.
The forum is temporarily in read-only mode: new registrations and new posts are paused, except on the Nostalgia wall, where members can leave short messages. Members can still log in to read their private messages, delete their messages and delete their account. You must be at least 14 years old to have an account.
Rules of use
You are responsible for what you post and for using the forum lawfully, in good faith and according to these rules. In particular, it is not allowed to:
- post illegal, defamatory, insulting, threatening, violent, racist, sexist, xenophobic or discriminatory content;
- post pornographic or sexually explicit content, or any sexual content involving minors;
- violate the honour, privacy or image of other people, for example by posting their personal data, photos or private conversations without their consent;
- harass, intimidate or impersonate other members or third parties;
- infringe intellectual or industrial property rights;
- post spam, unauthorised advertising or misleading links;
- introduce viruses or harmful programs, or try to alter, disable or overload the site;
- use the site for illegal or unauthorised purposes.
Moderation
The forum is moderated by its administrators. To enforce the law and these rules we may edit, hide or delete messages and threads, close threads, and suspend or close the account of anyone who breaks the rules seriously or repeatedly. Decisions about members' messages and accounts are always taken by a person.
When we remove your content or act on your account, we will tell you why, unless it is spam or the law prevents it. If you disagree with a decision, write to us explaining why and we will review it.
How to report illegal content
If you find content on the forum that you consider illegal or that violates your rights, use the contact form and include:
- the exact link to the message or messages;
- why you consider it illegal;
- your name and email, unless it concerns child sexual abuse material;
- a statement that the information you give is accurate and complete to the best of your knowledge.
We review reports within a reasonable time and remove or block the content if it is illegal. If you gave us an email address, we will tell you our decision. We may stop processing reports from anyone who repeatedly sends manifestly unfounded or abusive reports.
Point of contact
For any question, report or communication, including from authorities of the European Union, use the contact form. You can write to us in English or Spanish.
Responsibility for content
Messages on the forum belong to their authors, who are responsible for them. SocialPhobiaWorld does not share the opinions of its members and did not review messages before they were published. Under article 16 of the Spanish Information Society Services Act (LSSI) and the EU Digital Services Act (Regulation 2022/2065), it is not liable for them as long as it has no actual knowledge that they are illegal. When it does, through a decision of a competent authority or a report that shows content is clearly illegal, it will act diligently to remove it or block access to it.
Messages about health, including social anxiety, are personal experiences and opinions of members, not medical advice. If you need help, please talk to a health professional.
We try to keep the site working properly, but we cannot guarantee that it is always available or free of errors, and we are not liable for interruptions due to maintenance, technical failures or causes beyond our control.
Intellectual property
The design, our own texts, the logos and the code of the site belong to SocialPhobiaWorld or its licensors. Members keep the rights to their messages, but by posting them they gave SocialPhobiaWorld free permission to show them on the forum while they are published, also after the member deletes their account, as explained in the privacy policy.
Privacy and cookies
How we handle your personal data is explained in the privacy policy. This site uses its own and third-party cookies (Google, for advertising and statistics), explained in the cookie policy. You can change your choice at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page.
Links to other sites
The forum may contain links to third-party sites, posted by members or by us. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content; if you tell us about a link to illegal content, we will remove it.
Changes
We may change the site and these terms at any time. Important changes will be announced on the site. The version in force is always the one published on this page.
Applicable law
These terms are governed by Spanish law. If you are a consumer, the courts of your place of residence will be competent for any dispute.
