WHAT'S WRONG WITH BEING SMART?

Every smart person I've known well enough to talk about it with was given a hard time at school. Most of them ended up hiding their aptitude. I think it's because they made the other kids feel inadequate about their own scholastic abilities.

Cogent argument for having a variety of educational institutions, each dedicated to a particular level of ability. The bright kids get challenged and are less likely to be bullied, and the not quite so bright kids aren't made to feel intellectually intimidated and perhaps are more likely to become confident in their own abilities.

Random thoughts....

I'm a little disappointed in myself, because 3 VERY hot guys tried to make moves on me and cause conversation during the concert, but I pretty much barley responded and ignored them when I really badly wanted to do the opposite...Ahh, it would have been nice to have a conversation with a hot guy in person for a change and maybe get there number...There's always next time..I did manage to talk to a few girls very little..Still some kind of success I suppose. I think I made an idiot of myself some because I was sorta drunk and acting stupid. Haha! whatever! I had fun.

Sorry to hear you are experiencing these feelings atm bardock ::
I felt exactly as you described when I was in my late teens. I did try to end it all thinking no one would really care or miss me, however it did not work and I got to see that it did have an impact on my mother and step-father that I never dreamed it would.
Even though others in your life may make you feel like you would not be missed, maybe they are just those types that have trouble making it known. Hang in there! ((Hugs))

I know how it feels to feel disappointed in yourself- still, think of it this way - you had 3 (three!) guys trying to get your attention - thats gotta make you feel good. Your such a wacky guy. It does a little, but it's happened pretty often in the past, that I just think these guys are attractive desperate perverts and are after what ever they can get...I appreciate the attention anyways..I assume all men have perverted intentions when they approach me, until I'm proven/or convinced other wise. That's probably not helpful.
