I feel great!

I spent the last week or so in Melbourne. I had a great time and did lots of cool things while there, including making out with my friend's roommate. :D

I haven't been here in over a week, so I hope everyone is going really well!

That's super great Mikey! I'm very happy for you.:perfect:

Yesterday I was thinking about making a post about this very subject, but decided against it in case anyone took offence (though I can't really see why they would)... But as I saw this picture this morning I thought I should...

I feel so sad that people fail to even realise that innocent children are being killed and maimed on a daily basis in other parts of the world and yet there is a huge media uproar when it happens in the west. We should be distressed and unhappy when it happens in the west, but we should be just as distressed and unhappy when it happens anywhere. Of course, I don't blame people, I blame the media, but I find it so sad and depressing.

Aye, it is very depressing. But that how the western media is, there's huge media uproar when it happens in the west because, I think, the western media place more value on the lives of western citizens, overall.

Hope ma post doesnae get deleted, just my opinion. I've probably... not used the right choice of words to get ma point across. Nae offense intended, ye understand?

But, anyway, I agree with what ye said, Starry. That picture pretty says it all.

Exactly, that's the important part - I agree with the cartoon's message entirely but massacres of innocent children anywhere in the world are all as equally deserving of sympathy.

I think there is a lot of ignorance towards the true extent of what goes on elsewhere - people don't seem to be aware of it, and that's not necessarily their fault, it's just that it's not as newsworthy as a celebrity's cellulite *rolls eyes*

I agree with what's been said. If all these murders of people are happening in countries the media is focusing on, imagine what the media aren't showing?

I am very fortunate to be living in Australia. Very fortunate indeed.

I recently came back from an engagement party. I skipped out early, which is probably a terrible thing to do, but I knew about 5 people out of 200 and they all had their friends and families there. By the end of it I was skipping out to the bathroom every 5 minutes to calm my anxiety and awkwardness, but it didn't help. I had to leave. I wonder if my friend will make a big deal out of it later.

I was texting that Melbourne girl all night, which was awesome so I didn't have to deal with too many people!

Well that's exactly the right attitude, taking it as it comes and enjoying it for what it is and all the good moments it provides.

See? You didn't need to be scared to give her your number ::p:

No, I definitely did have to be scared, haha. :giggle: I'm glad it's worked out in my favour, though.

There's been lots of good moments. Great start to 2013!

^ Excellent news!

I've just found out from a friend that another friend's boyfriend has now turned his abuse of his girlfriend (who is one of my best friends) into a physical form. Apparently it was the last straw, she was going to leave him, but then he apologised and she changed her mind.
I feel helpless - still - in this situation. It just escalates and escalates. And who knows where it will end.
Blurch.

On a lighter note, I'm meeting the boy again on Friday and I'm pleased he's still interested after going home for Christmas :)

And on an even lighter note... mum's cooking pasta for tea :D Don't like it overly much but when I don't have it often I can really crave it!

Tired tired tired. And annoyed. Gah! >.< The good news is that my brother went down towards NYC with his girlfriend for the weekend... Or maybe just for today, I don't know. Either way I don't have to see him for hours, which makes me happy. I'm just so aggravated with him anymore, I always am.

I'm irritated with my boyfriend so I'm going to eat a load of toast and put on a load of weight and then we'll see whos laughing HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Tired, we've been moving furniture around today, plus Saturday is the main housework day... I'm supposed to do the washing/Laundry, but I've decided to do it tomorrow instead (I have to do it by hand, so it takes a while).
