I had a crush on a guy back in high school :) and now a days I haven't formed a crush on someone. I get intrigued by people but no crushing :( that would be a nice feeling to feel again :)

I just doubt that you would go out with a disgustingly ugly guy because of his character.

Well dear you don't know me do you, so don't assume! This whole thread kind of irritates me, i hate the shallowness in the world, it isn't fair, all these damn standards. Don't you find it ridiculous that one person says they don't judge looks and it is completely unbelieveable???

I had a pretty thorough rebuttal for what you've said in this thread so far, but I'd rather not post it. Instead I shall say that I understand that you've probably had more than your share of unwanted attention and it must seem a little bewildering and infuriating if you haven't experienced the same thing toward someone else. I truly sympathize but I think you need to be careful about how your frustration reflects on others having perfectly normal and almost certainly harmless feelings.

It's got nothing to do with how people see me. I'm just tired of assumptions toward me. It's about how the world and people work. Say whatever you'd like to me i don't mind. I feel how i feel about things and i have opinions - i will voice them, i don't walk through life conforming, i have my own ideas so too damn bad. All this damn censoring i knew it'd happen. I'm not judging anyone else here really, it's just how everyone is and i understand that, i simply don't like it. Anyway i'll just stop posting, i know my strong opinons do come across wrong sometimes and i'm not intending to offend anyone - no one understands my point of view anyways.. carry on the shallowness ..i'm straight forward, sorry if you all hate me now ;)

Just to be fair, you don't know anybody here so please don't assume. Nobody is trying to argue or disprove your feelings, just offering a different perspective. I understand your frustrations with shallowness and wholeheartedly agree that deeper relationships should not be purely physical. There needs to be a level of mutual intimacy, commitment, and interpersonal connection, you are right.

But having said that, a fair majority of crushes do contain elements other than physical attraction. As vj stated, personality may be projected into a person we do not know. Or we may simply be attracted to what we do know about somebody, even if not personally. But the physical attraction certainly does exist and varies in importance when developing and sustaining a crush.

A crush is simply an attraction; whether it be physical or otherwise. Basically premature romance, harmful and natural feelings. The feelings (on this thread specifically) are often fleeting and do not develop beyond attraction because they lack other components.

Love is obviously much deeper and complex than a simple crush; I would agree that to declare love for somebody purely based on physical attraction would not be love at all.

No one here hates you, you're a good person. You hold an interesting perspective that evoked thoughtful conversation and hope there's no hard feelings between anybody.
